Beech vs Independence on CSS right now.

Get one of the cheerleaders to throw for them. Goodness lmao. Good game Vic, Rashaan. Not on you guys that's for sure.

Who was the best player on the field? Carter, Gaulden, or Wharton? All 3 are good, I know....

Hard to argue with 320 yards 4 touchdowns looking at 8 or 9 in the box all night.

Carter owes all of that to his Oline. he didnt really make many moves to make big plays. the holes were always wide open. dont get me wrong, he made some plays and has some decent skills. he averaged right under 6 yards per carry. if you get the ball every play, your going to have a lot of yards and TDs

Carter is a very good high school back, but he lacks the size, speed, and wiggle that a SEC back brings to the table.

How many tackles did gaulden finish with?

How ever many plays Beech ran minus the 4 plays for touchdowns..... at least that's what it seemed like. Seriously, I'll guess 18-20.

Honestly, there weren't 8-9 box in the first half virtually at all, when he gained nearly 2/3 of his yds. Indy didnt adjust at all til the 2nd half. But you're right, 320 yds and 4 tds is a good night's work no matter what. My guess is Hurd mightve gone for 450-500 yds and 6-7 tds had he played Indys defense tonight. Would've been fun to see.

You do realize people could have said the exact same thing last season about Hurd when he was receiving 40 carries per game, and running behind a better offensive line, right?

At some point, you just have to admit that the kid is a pretty good football player, and honestly, without a suspension for Carter last season, Hurd is likely playing WR.

@bartonsimmons: Dorian Carter ended with 54 carries for 320 yards and 4 TDs. Rashaan Gaulden may have had 54 tackles.

Hurd averaged over 10 yards per carry. i never said the kid wasnt talented, just saying that tonight most of his yards came from running through good sized holes. he didnt break many tackles or make many people miss. 1 play he was about 15 yards ahead of everyone and got chased down. IIRC last week he had a large number of carries but not many yards

Silver lining to Hurd's injury: he's not wearing out the tread on his tires. I know he wouldn't have gotten 54 carries, but we're looking at north of 30. You put that much load on one guy for a season and he starts to break down.
