Because of Florida, we are trying to get Tennessee back to championships

Yeah, I know, right?

So either Kevin Sherrer doesn't understand Jeremy Pruitt, or (and I find this far more likely), the guy who wrote this weak article doesn't understand Kevin Sherrer.

Jeremy said this is why he came to Tennessee was to play big games against peer competitors and rivals LIKE Florida. His message clearly meant to be extended to cover the UGa game, and the Bama game, as well. The high-profile games against challenging competition.

How do we know that's what Jeremy really said? Because he said it in front of cameras.

That dude who wrote the article (another of those lazy ones, with huge page-wide photos to hide the fact that it's barely over one real paragraph long) needs to think a bit more before rushing to publish.

Here is an important quote:

'UT staff's plan is long term and only beginning to unfold.

"The first year is a transition year," he said. "Every day is a new day until you get to the first day of the second year. And then everyone seems to sort of understand: OK, here's what's expected. Here's what Coach wants us to do. Here's how Coach Pruitt runs this. This is how the strength program goes."

After the first season, Sherrer expects the returning players to amplify their coaching.'

A lot of people don't understand, this staff is trying to build a program, not just win a game or get a contract. This just goes to show that even more.

And it really makes me feel better about where we could be a few years down the road.

Is it all talk, until it isn't
right?

Yeah, but it's the right kind of talk. You know like "Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for 60 minutes" and "The team that makes the fewest mistakes will win", is just talk unless the players take to heart and deliver it.

It's all just talk until it isn't.

I was never a Butch defender, but Pruitt at least seems to focus on the right things.

The more I hear from him, and see what he is trying to teach, the more I buy in to Pruitt.
