What does everyone think has to happen for us to beat Georgia?

I think we have to establish a short passing game early to open up the running lanes and keep our defense off the field. I know people are gonna think im crazy because we all know how absolutely pathetic crompton is as a Qb but if we can't get at least get a short passing game going. GA will stack the box all night stopping our run and our defense will get tired.

Go Vols and Lord please send us a Qb

Crompton needs to throw passes in front of the receivers, the receivers need to catch it, good defense, create turnovers, for the most part what we need to do every week. We need to install hands on Hancock's helmet as well.

No more than 1 turnover Hardesty and brown gotta rush for 150 combined and we need our D to step up and shut the running game down.

Wasn't that the Auburn game plan? I say Hardesty, Hardesty, Hardesty, Brown. Repeat.

The O needs to control the line of scrimmage and the clock so the D can stay fresh.

Well looking at stats only...

Our defense vs their offense
Georgia is ranked #105 in rushing offense at 98 yards/game. That's pathetic. We really don't have to worry too much with stopping the run.

Georgia has a decent (not great, but above average) passing attack so we need to get to Cox early and beat him up pretty good. Then I think we'll have our way with them.

Our offense vs their defense

Georgia ranks average in both rush and passing defense with their passing defense being the worst of the two. I don't think we have to do anything tricky to beat them, just settle in, play loose, establish a running game, and hit them on some deep passes.

I would like to see some more swing passes to RB's. Get Brown and Hardesty in there at the same time and either fake handoff to Hardesty and throw to Brown or vice versa. Get our faster o-line out, especially Douglas, and do some run blocking down field.

I think I agree with you 100%.

Stop A.J. Green, and you basically stop UGA offense. Also, our special teams need to actually show up and play, because UGA typically has decent returners.

Maybe run the wishbone with Nu-Keese, Brown, and Hardesty.
Run the ball, then run the ball, after that run the ball. When they do all that, run the ball.
Give the D a break. EAT CLOCK!!!! If we can't score, at least give our D a rest so they can keep UGA from scoring.

I'd argue that hitting one or two deep balls might be safer, feasible, and effective. Safer because an int is more like a punt. Feasible because if we run two deep routes, one will likely be single coverage. Effective because we can run on them easy if they have to play two deep safeties. But I don't see it happening.

Defense show back up. Double up on AJ with man and zone, stuff the run, force 3rd and long and pin ears back on Cox. Offense run the ball, short passing game with a couple shots down the field to keep safety out of box. And please find a kick coverage team.

THE WHOLE OFFENSE COME TO PLAY.....EXECUTION LIKE THE WESTERN GAME...

In that game I know Western was not that good but we did not have any dropped balls and we did not have hardly any penalties and players lined up correctly during the game!
This team needs to have a players meeting and discuss whats happening on Offense...If I was Kiffin I would have the Defense hitting the offense all week this week and hitting them hard anytime they went half Aresed during practice on any drill....Offense has got to get better...
I will say that the Offensive line has been playing pretty dang well for not having a whole lot of talent...Speaks volumes for James Gregg and Chaney...

Don't let Crompton throw it 44 times like last week. Make the decision to run it down their throats and dont change your mind if it doesn't work one time and maybe throw a 2-minute drill at them when they aren't expecting it.....JC made that work (somehow).

1.) Crompton isn't allowed to throw the ball more than 15-20 times.

2.) Combined rushing yards over 150 for UT.

3.) Win the time of possession battle. Atleast have the ball for 35 minutes.

4.) Not allow long kick off returns. Win the field position battle.

5.) Shut down AJ Green.

Celebrate our first TD with the whole team running down to the end zone. Great for team morale.

Crompton needs to learn how to simply LEAD his recievers, and the recievers need some time with

Not going to happen. Georgia is a good team. This team can't beat good teams... or decent teams for that matter. Auburn is a middle of the road SECW team. They are not better than LSU or Bama. Auburn will compete with Ole Miss and Ark for third best team in the West. Buckle up boys... this year is just going to get worse. I'm going to stock up on gin, tonic, and limes.

Do you guys get your LB back? The only way I see UT having a chance is if Berry can play back in coverage instead of roving the entire field. UGA's WRs aren't perfect, but they're good enough to beat UT right now. Berry could neutralize that, but only if he isn't asked to police the LOS the entire game.

As someone said earlier, I don't see UGA's run game being much of a threat. Ever since their first drive of the season, they seem to have given up on it.

This is one of those games that your D actually could win for you - UGA's just not very good this year - but since you had a reasonable game on offense (for Crompton) against AUB.. I just don't see it happening. He's not gonna string 2 INT-free games together in a row.
