You can't just look at a Rivaly series, disregard the first ten games just because they happened in the past (haven't all the games happened in the past?), and then use it as evidence.

Yeah, do you know how many years FSU would have been national champs if they didn't lose to Clemson, or Wake Forest, or Florida or NC State, or if their QB didn't get hurt, or their starting RB, or their WR

Look at the history. It always goes in cycles. We are at the start of an uptick. You guys are headed down but won't hit bottom for another 2 or 3 years with Chump. I haven't looked at the schedule, but I foresee a four win season for the gators this year. Three non-conference cupcakes and maybe Kentucky or Vanderbilt.

Tennessee hasnt had a winning decade over florida since the 50's.

That's a long ass cycle

We didn't play but roughly twice a decade until the 90's. So that is like saying Vermont hasn't had a winning decade since the '20s

We ARE Tennessee.

We DO have a long, storied and successful history.

There's ONLY 2 times when we MIGHT think about storming the field and that's when we WIN our next SEC Championship and when we WIN our next National Championship.

We should be happy, scream and have a great time enjoying our wins but NOT be storming the field like we just accomplished something really awesome that deserves huge national recognition.

Beating floriDUHHH will be great but it's NOT a huge deal when the Gators are on a downswing and not even ranked so be happy, celebrate, cheer and act like a storied program like Tennessee should act.

1st things 1st and that's beating NC State because they are a good football team with a good QB leading them and that WIN could be the start of alot of confidence and some really good things happening the rest of the season.

True, but they have owned our butts since we beat them in '70 & '71, even though we only played them 2 times later in the in the 70's and twice in the '80's.

If he keeps bringing in classes like the 2012 class, and the kids we already have for 2013 lined up, I'll be ok with "Chump"

LOL at 4 win season for the Gators anywhere in the near future.

I say all that because there isn't a team I hate losing to more than Tennessee.

I'm not sure anyone on this board really has a point of comparison to live in a state as one of the few fans of a bitter rival, and deal with an opposing fan base.

I'm sure the hating will start in 3.......2.......1, but it's the truth. Ask any of your fans who live in Florida and deal with FSU, UF, or Miami fans.

When you beat us in 2004 my phone rang before the game was even over. I haven't had a phone call from Vol fans in 7 years, but if we lose this year, I'll hear about how UT owns us, Florida sucks, etc.............happens every time. Same thing in 98 and 2001.

I'm confused.

They played every year in the 90's. This was Tennessee's "decade of dominance". Surely, during this time period, which included the greatest qb who ever lived, Tennessee would have had a winning record over florida

Seems like if the problem was because we didnt play every year, playing every year during the decade of dominance would have fixed that

I lived in Jacksonville from 1998 til 2001 and Palm Beach from 2002 til 2005. I feel your pain in that aspect. It is not much fun living in a rival teams territory. Luckily for me.....we won 3 of the years I lived in Florida....could have been a whole lot worse than it was.

The point of this thread is moot (but has been pretty entertaining however). You need to focus on a team you can beat before you talk about rushing the field. If you can't beat us with Brantley and a bunch of freshman learning a brand new system on both sides of the ball....

Lucky for the Gators, Tampa is in FL. That should provide ample Tampons to stop the bloody nose Tennessee will be giving FL this year.

Will this be the start of total POWNAGE, I don’t think so. It will be fun to watch Chump blow a gasket on the sidelines though. It may even be enough for FL fans to bash on Chump a bit, wondering if he really is the guy. There isn’t a football game played that cannot be won. As long as everyone stays on assignment, and thinks about the team 1st and their teammates before themselves.

Yes, that is what I am saying. It is not like the gators are going to even be a top-25 team when they come to Knoxville. They will be 1-1 and coming off a thumping from the Aggies. They lost six games last year with Rainey and Demps. Those guys are gone now as is their senior quarterback (Brantley). They just aren't going to be able to score any points.
