Here, I'll finish the sentence for you: realize they have yet to play a full game yet.

They went on cruise control after going up on UF and really only played about 25 minutes of good football against Arkansas

Ok, Im gonna bite.

If Bama plays the first series and shuts it down, we have a shot.:)

Here is how we beat Bama:

They think it is an off week and don't show up. But even then after review we may be found guilty of too many men on the field and give them a chance to fly to Knoxville, dress out, get on the field at the 2 and punch it in for a victory...:ermm:

I'm hoping I wouldnt win. I've seen some pretty retarded stuff on here.

OMG man this would not make the top 50 in imho, but it would be cool to have a thread or poll on the worst threads and get a top 5 or top 3....:birgits_giggle:

there's no way in **** we beat bama. our d looks like a train wreck in progress at stopping the run. i like your positivity but i cant think of one position where were better than bama. i will be happy if we come within 14 points

Normally I would completely disagree and say something like... there's always a chance. But Alabama is the Anti-Vol. Their strengths will be paired against our weakness and any of our "strenghts" will likely be negated agaisnt Bama.

The game has to be played but I hold very little faith that we will be able to defeat them. Ole Miss, Kentucky, Vandy, Memphis (hopefully not UAB II), and UGA are all possibilities though.

Thing is, that is why they play the game. I will never say that the Vols do not have a shot to win. Nobody gave us a shot last year and look what happened. Again, that is why they play the game.
Cheers

I will literally take off running immediately after the game and run across country to Knoxville from San Diego.

As much as I want to, I'm not going to set myself up for it. I'll just watch the game and enjoy the competition.

I am one that truly believes that every team has a chance to win. But for the Vols to have a chance to beat Bama this year it would take a miracle of biblical proportions, I'm talking Moses parting the red sea.

Yes, Im drinking some kool aid, but realistically we can beat alabama. Yes, I'm saying there is a chance. I'm not kidding myself enough to think that we come close to them talent wise or have the depth they have. I know theyre Miles better than LSU (pun intended) and Florida, but dont count us out. We always play to the level of our opponent, be it up or down. We've managed to sustain it for a half against Oregon, 3 quarters against Florida, and 99 percent of the game against LSU. See a pattern here? (Yes I know how the UAB game went. That was a matter of underestimating the opponent IMO. We were on the cusp of it last year and a lot of these guys (particularly on defense remember this). This team has enough heart in Nick Reveiz alone to do it.

Call me Lloyd Christmas, but I'm saying there's a chance.

GBO and let's build some momentum against UGA this weekend!

Considering the situation (in Knoxville, UT with a week off, BAMA at the end of a murderous stretch, Dooley being a Saban disciple, UT's inspired play so far this year)

... it is possible! ...just look at last year's game!

Can anyone think of a greater upset in the history of football given the history and rivalry of UT and Bama?

Maybe I'm young, but as far as I'm concerned, it would be the single greatest upset (and probably most unlikely) in the history of college football.

For UT fans of my age, there is no bigger win than the Alabama game. However, there is no way this would be the biggest upset in CFB history. There are way to many examples to list them all here.

It might be the greatest upset in the history of the UT-Bama rivalry, but it would be a far cry from the greatest upset in college history. Just this year, James Madison over Va Tech is a bigger upset. UT might not be a great team, but this upset wouldn't be that big in a historical spotlight.

That said, I think UT loses to bama by at least 3 TDs (man it hurt to type that).

But...anything can happen on any given Saturday.

I'll drive to Knoxville and you can burn my car. As long as I can claim it on insurance and get a newer one :)

My wifes not a football fan or a fan of any sport. She didn't know most of the nicknames of the SEC schools except for UT, and UK. Sad I know. I was telling her the nicknames of all the teams, but when we got to the Alabama "Crimson Tide." She laughed and said, "It sounds like a womens menstrual cycle!"

I thought that was funny.

Unfortunatly I see the Alabama "Menstrual Cycle" beating us again. But we've hung tough in two of the three losses and I'm hoping the Football Gods shine down on us and give us a break especially after this week. Too bad games aren't won with heart and effort alone. We'd be 4-1.

Oh, you're drinking something alright. And it's a little bit stronger than Kool aid. We can't even get the correct amount of players on the field and you think we'll take down the National Champions. I love the optimism but C'mon man!

If Ingram has flashbacks of his first fumble last year and starts coughing up the ball constantly, it could possibly happen.
Posted via VolNation Mobile

With a player like Ingram, I have a feeling that something like that would motivate him to hang on to it.

It can happen. The Vols are Bama's eighth game in a row with no week off

We have a bye week between the Georgia and Bama game, which is very good. Get the guys rested up before the biggest game of the year.

We have a better chance of beating the Raiders....

I could go out blindfolded and still record 350 passing yards, 250 rushing yards, 9 sacks and 3 picks against the Raiders.

technically there's always a chance......but this year it's an extremely long shot in the dark. comparing the tide to the vols is like apples and oranges right now.

The comparison is more like apples and moon dust. One is so vastly different from the other that they are in another category entirely...but still in the same solar system.
