Cox is horrible , cant wait for lsu vs uf !!!

I agree with the guy who said fsu and the U being down are a big part of it . Them being mediocre makes UF a way bigger appeal . If im a young stud in florida ( thats if UT is out of the picture :) ), im going to gainsville .

Living in Florida, I can assure you that UF owns the state right now.

Not only is it racking up National Championships, but it is the toughest state school to get in to.

I have known kids with 1300 SAT and 3.5 GPA who couldn't get in. Now if you are Tebow you get in with a 990 SAT, but that is another story.

Both of my boys are in high school, so I hear all the college chatter. The only downside to UF is the size of the school turns off some students. There are 40,000+ students. My son is interested in engineering, but crossed UF off his list after he saw that Freshman calculus had 1100 students for a 900 set "classroom".

For him Florida Tech or Geogia Tech are better fits. He is even looking at the UT Nuceular Engineering program.

But if you are the best academic school in the state with the best sports, it is hard to beat.

Think UT with Vandy academics.

I'd still rather be UT than Notre Dame. They could have had Urban Myer, passed, and now he is like 26-4, with anational championship.....oh yea, also any of Florida's skillt players on offense could be Notre Dame's best player right now.

What a wise prophet Coach Bryant was. He was saying that if he coached Florida they would have won 12 National Championships.

I might be young and have no idea about the things in the earlier decades, but USC has produced many Heismans, and Championships. Including beating the 1939 Tennessee team that was undefeated and un-scored upon. So, they have been know to get some talent.

Please remember Timmy that game was played without the services of the two best college player that UT had in that era Caffego and Suffridge..

Actually, he was saying how if FL got the right coach AL wouldn't even be in the running for an SEC championship.

When fulmer gets the ax, UT can hire an Urban Meyer type coach. UT has as much money as UF, better facilities, more fans, more tradition, etc. But, UT will have to come up with at least $4 mil to get a top guy, like Spurrier or Gruden.

USC will have great recruits no matter who the coach is. Who wouldn't want to go play in L.A. and get national attention.

I find it amazing that Hawaii doesn't have every top recruit in the country. That is the perfect place to lure a high school kid to.

You must never have been here or watched a hawaii game. They could give away tickets and not fill the stadium. Facilities are a joke and no one in there right mind would want to do the kind of traveling these guys do.

Didn't Notre Dame only decide they were interested after Meyer had already agreed to go to Florida? I may be wrong about that, but I seem to remember something about him saying that he'd already agreed to go to Gainesville, would honor that commitment, etc.
