Bears O-Line Coach Harry Hiestand joins Vol staff

I have read the GVX story over and over and don't see it. Several have referred to it. Has it been edited out?

If I'm missing it, someone please direct link because I'm not seeing this.

Actually the Wikipedia entry says "Every senior starting offensive linemen in Hiestand's first seven years with the Illini was signed to an NFL contract."

Chaney or CDD are the only other logical RB coaches.

But CDD did say the remaining coaches were fluid, so Nash could have been told its flexible.
What about this scenario:
DL: Thompson
LB/DC: Steele
OC (and maybe Co-OL): Chaney
QB: Hinshaw
RB: new hire

Not likely, but I guess it could happen.

HC: Dooley
OC/QB: Chaney
RB: Hinshaw
WR: Baggett
OL: Hiestand
TE/ST: Russell

DB: Joseph
LB: Thompson
DL: (C. Smith, please)
DC: (Mystery Candidate behind door #3)

Chaney has never coached QBs and Hinshaw was referenced by Nash Nance as being his position coach.

I'm not sure if Chaney has ever coached RBs, but that position seems to be the wildcard.

Yep, they were terrible because they were not coached up properly.

Come on guys, quit being so negative with nothing to support your negativity.

That could easily be the case. He was coaching NFL pros not college kids who might not even get in the league. All I am saying is the Bears line was terrible. Find me proof that it wasn't.

All i know is that you have to be somewhat of a decent coach to be in the NFL.

Edit: Unless your kiffin

See "Callahan, Bill."

Mike and Dave Shula have been NFL coaches, too, and so has Ed Orgeron.

The NFL is just as capable of hiring idiots as coaches as any college program.

Well, its good we got a coach with some NFL experience. How did the Bears o-line do anyway? All i know is that Jay Cutler sucked something pretty awful this past year.

I will forever be gratefull to CLK because he brought the word "NFL" to KTown, and it looks like CDD understands that "NFL" got the recruits here last year, not the name of Lane Kiffin falling from the heavens. I support this hire and hope he is the real thing.

True. We have two slots left. Neither of those will be offensive coaches.

Being a Bears fan, I have no idea if the offense's lack of production (23rd out of 32) is the O-Line coach's fault. I do know the offensive coordinator Ron Turner....well, he's no Norv.

Also, I remember some coach's saying about "chicken salad". Anybody know that one?

:)

Didn't you ever notice that Cutler was constantly running for his life....or throwing interceptions.:)

Granted the O-Line wasn't all that great this year, but do remember they were in the superbowl a few years back against the Colts... I also know the Bears have also been known for their defense, but still, you can't go to the super bowl without some offensive production..
