Yeah and something tells me it is Kevin Steele and Chuck Smith and Dooley is holding out until after NSD. I understand the Steele thing, but not sure why he would delay on announcing Smith. Oh well, I assume he has a reason for it and I am willing to wait.

Not to hijack the thread, but have their been anymore grumblings around Steele?

I'm a Golden Eagle, but I didn't keep up with their athletics, so I didn't know that.

He was a marketing major. I had several classes with him. He was a good student and rarely missed a class. I think he graduated in 2005 and was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons.

Mountain, that just might be the best avatar in the entire history of the internets. :good!:

I like the NFL ties, but I also like the recruiting potential in the Midwest AND Northeast. Not that this had anything to do at all with the hiring or will mean anything, but in looking at his bio, I noticed he's from Malvern, PA. Didn't know where it was, so I looked it up,and there is a very good prep school in this area.

Could be a cool little pipeline if he could work it, they grow them big up there :)

I don't think they can go recruiting. It is a dead period until signing day??? Maybe? Perhaps?

there's a limit to the number of coaches that can recruit anyways isn't there? Or have communication with recruits off campus or something?

I think he has to pass the test, then the HC + any of the 9 asst can go, from what I understand.

... and any number of hostesses, as long as they have an ambiguous, multi-colored sign.

Assuming this must push Chaney to QB and Hinshaw to RB. Contradicts what Nash Nance was saying about his position coach.

My guess:
QB-Chaney
RB-Hinshaw
WR-Baggett
OL-Hiestand
TE/ST-Russell

Chaney or CDD are the only other logical RB coaches.

But CDD did say the remaining coaches were fluid, so Nash could have been told its flexible.

I think Steele is our DC and Smith our DL but Smith hasn't been added so they can add the DC first.

Hinshaw will coach the QBs.

Not really sure who the running backs coach will be.

Now, all we need is Chuck Smith and a DC!
