Bearcat fans blame officiating on potential loss: (merged)

A loss to cincinnati is acceptable as long as it isnt on the last play of the game due to a recalled penalty after regulation has expired.

God, still having nightmares.

I may be bias but, I thought the two INT pass interference calls were good calls. Am I wrong? Hell the second one, our receiver got knocked flat on his ass before the ball got there.

Very misleading by the OP. Seem like a level headed group over there at the Bearcat board.

The first one was def. a good call. I missed the second one both times I watched the game.

I'm always concerned about SEC Officiating.

Me too. In my estimation, UT generally gets the short end on controversial calls regardless of who they're playing when SEC officials are involved.

I find it pretty funny how many of them look for excuses before the game is even played... but really? trying to say the refs? that could have held some truth 15 years ago, but today we have instant replays and nationally televised games.. refs are not going to put their careers on the line...

but it is like this all over the country when you talk to other fans about the SEC.. they convince themselves of some sort of cheating is the reason SEC is the dominant conf.

Although they would be right when talking about Auburn

I don't think too many Tennessee fans are taking Cincinnati for granted.

It's hard to look past a team that's been to the Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl in the past three years when we were 18-20 over the same time.

Maybe they are confusing all the Florida fans who are looking past UAB and posting on our board as disrespect from us.

I know Cinci is better than Montana but really? We should easily win this game by 2 scores. That's not being arrogant either. We have a better football team and I see Bray having a field day with that secondary. Clearly our defense is going to be tested more than the opener but I really don't think this team is looking past anyone at this point.

Tenneseee - 38
Cinci - 10

I think this will be an exciting game with a lot of points scored. I think it will be a close game either way but I don't think refs will be the difference. I'm looking forward to the atmosphere at Neyland Stadium.

I do see some people overlooking us but that's to be expected due to our lack of success last year. I don't think it means much though because it doesn't matter how many fans overlook a team, I don't think your team will overlook us. We've accomplished too much recently to be overlooked.

We have a great O and our D, although it was terrible last year, has improved and returned basically everyone. I'm anxious to see where we stand as the Austin Peay game doesn't tell us much.

Anybody overlooking Cincy is crazy, Neyland or not, they are going to bring it.

And so it begins haha...we didn't need luck against montana..
Dooley took his foot off the gas early for several reasons...Bray and co. will have a field day against cinci.

Dooley took his foot off the gas? The starters were still in the game and Bray was passing on the second-to-last-series. Taking your foot off the gas is removing the starters after one series in the third quarter (what UC did). Or playing the 3rd team defense most of the 4th quarter (which UC did Saturday), not leaving your starters in deep in the 4th quarter.

You seriously don't think that losing one or two of those fumbles doesn't significantly change the game? Think of the points you don't score at the very least. The UT play-by-play shows at least 14 points that come off the board, as two UT touchdown drives had multiple fumbles, including two fumbles in the Montana red zone. USF took a fumble back 96 yards for a score. What happens if Montana does that? Suddenly the score is 28-23 and it's a much different ballgame.

Will Bray and company have a field day against the UC defense? Montana got Bray for three sacks. Will UC's D-line do as well? If they do, the field day might be UC's, because their back seven is better than Montana's.

I guess we will see.
