Be prepared to lose to Vandy and Kentucky.

Losing to kentucky would be terrible. I've got 3 obnoxious UK fans in my office who have been giving it to me good all season.

No way we can win these games. We will punch Vandys ticket to their first bowl game in over 20 years. Our defense will shine and our offense will putter.
In other news, the sun is expected to rise in the east, Taco Bell gives you gas and Rosie O'Donnell is unattractive.

After the remarks from early opponents like Florida that claimed our guys quit, this is an unbearable 2 game home stretch. I simply just want the season over, I'd almost say we ought to forfeit the last 2 games.

Those remarks were about last years game. Nothing to do with this season.

You can hardly blame him for getting the games mixed up. The failure is starting to run together.

So let's all get over it and look to the future. Why :horse:?

Edit: NM I guess Vandy and UK are in the future. Bash away.

I still believe believe we can beat both Vandy and UK. But I also believe that some of the players did not play their best against WY in order to get back at the administration by not becoming bowl eligible. "You fired our coach, we ain't gonna bring any bowl money to you". Just my most humble opinion, fire away at me if you like, don't really care anymore. Just hoping we find the right guy to turn this fiasco around.

Thanks for the warning. For some reason, it never entered my mind that this team could lose to Vandy and Kentucy after playing Wyoming into the 4th quarter.

I'd hate to see the Kentucky streak come to an end since the Vanderbilt streak ended so recently.

Looks like the school record for most losses in a season will happen this year.

I hope Tennessee doesn't get shut out against UK or Vandy. Tennessee hasn't been shut out since 1994 (Florida in Knoxville). But Tennessee is risking that since 4 games this year saw only single-digit points. Tennessee hasn't been shut out against Kentucky since 1976 or Vanderbilt since 1964.

Tennessee is also on the verge of being outscored by opponents for the first time since 1988 (5-6 season; PF=212; PA=286). Currently, Tennessee has been outscored by 21 points this season.

Look at the bright side. This year we can be the spoiler playing Vandy and Ky. just as they have tried to be against us for decades, usually unsucessfully.

If I were Fulmer, I would put a Lucus Taylor, Gerald Jones or Berry at QB in the "I" formation and run every down and tell our defense to win the d@*n game for the Gulper.

There is absolutely nothing to worry about.

i wonder what our record would be if we scored 3-7 more points a game on offense. i guess we know what it would be if our offense hadn't scored for the other team.

I was surprised by that statistic too. I expected it to be much worse. But 2 of the 3 wins were 35-3 over UAB and 34-3 over Miss St (granted 14 of those points were by the defense, not the offense). Three of the losses were by a total of 11 points (UCLA, Auburn, Wyoming).

BTW, only twice since 1964 has Tennessee been outscored by opponents (1981, 1988). Even the 4-7 season of 1977, Tennesse broke even in scoring with opponents (229 PF and 229 PA).

But I feel that we will lose to Vandy and beat Kentucky. I have no good facts to base it on....except the streak. I remember when Bama kept beating us back in late 80's and early 90's with inferior teams.....there is something about streaks!!!!
Maybe the fact that Kentucky will be Fulmer's last game the team will finally put in together....like I said I can't explain it. :mf_surrender:

Just to clarify, I hope for a win. Right now Tennessee is basically a team going through the motions. Last Saturday's game proved that.
