Tonight was the first chance I had to look around the web and see the commentary on the Vols' big win. As could have been predicted, there is story after story, analysis of analysis, much of which is already putting a chink in your armor as the #1.

One thing you have to get used to at the top is the criticism of 100 teams beneath you, not to mention the media, which loves to find fault with the top team.

Came across this gem linked to CNN/SI: Bruce Pearl Mauls Erin Andrews - FanHouse - AOL Sports Blog

Now they are going after Pearl for trying to cop a feel off Erin Andrews. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Well I think we will take that any day if that means we are at the top.

I will say though, it does get annoying with some of the ridiculous comments that are said. Tonight during the UNC game one of the commentators said that Tennessee is UNC without lawson.:eek:lol:

What's all this "we" crap? You are a Duke fan. You can't say "we" when you have multiple teams, that's bush league.

Easy now. Technically speaking, unless you play bball for the Vols yourself, you can't really include your self in "we," either. As in "We beat Memphis."

Sorry, but in my mind, anyone who has grown up a fan of 1 team, who donates money to a school, or who went to said school, can say "we".

People who have loyalties based on the flavor of the moment have no business saying "we".

For all you know he could go to grad school there which in my mind gives them the right to root for two teams.

Hey, you were the one parsing entitlement to ride the train. I'm just sayin'...

First off, it's a "she" I'm referring to, and no, she does NOT go to school there. Be educated on who the subject matter is about or don't chime in.

It's not entitlement, it's that she has openly been a Duke supporter and if I'm not mistaken, has stated that in a head to head battle, she'd cheer for Duke.

I find it hard to accept a bandwagon fan saying "we". Unless you attended or donate your money to both Universities, then that's what you are, bandwagon.

I had a feeling from the moment that it happened that this would be a big deal...I doubt it goes away anytime soon if Tennessee keeps winning.

I actually worried a little about it too when it happened, but since then... it doesn't look like it'll turn into a big deal.

She didn't look like she even thought about it twice. I seriously doubt she felt violated or that she will make a big deal out of this.

But she is an ex-gator so you never know...
