I am startled by the number of people who think Auburn is above Tennessee, in anyway besides head to head match-ups and Heisman winners.

Freeze is not a dream. He is a nightmare... Ask Ole MIss. They did not learn much though, they just hired another character optional guy to run their program as verified by folks on our very site proposing he would leave them after one season like he did us. I am hoping that our money guys who got burned by Kiffin for his costs both coming and going within a year are emphasizing they will not invest in a guy that lacks trustworthiness regardless of his X'svand O's.

We are in a different situation totally and your comparison of UT and Auburn is stupid. Auburn had won and competed. We’d be happy with the record Auburn had this year. Our guy ain’t stale, he just can coach or manage a team. If we make a move it should be because we have it worked out. With the investigation there may not be a choice. Our guy is so damn bad he can’t go .500 even with handing out cash.

They have to be putting some sort of ludicrous conditions on the job to make that many coaches decide not to take interview or back out afterwards.

Like maybe the HC has to give Bo Jackson a deep-tissue quad and glute massage every Sunday morning after home games.

Auburn more than likely fired a fellow who beat Saban on multiple occasions and won a NC for somebody who has demonstrated they cannot accomplish either feat. That’s going backwards y’all no matter how you cut it.

You guys blew it so bad with Shiano. No coach has wanted anything to do with you since.

Your actually thinking it would be a good hire to bring in Freeze when you are under investigation for breaking rules!?!?!?

You didn’t wanna hire Shiano because of his past ties and backed out of his deal because you felt it was morally wrong to hire Shiano. You got guys talking about Freeze now?

Auburn is a damn farm school with their stadium in a cow pasture. No, Auburn isn’t better than Tennessee other than it’s shorts weather year around. Until Tennessee rips out the toxic leadership from top to bottom within the football program they’ll never be good again. They could still have that. Look at the mass exodus of players. Look at how Pruitt has handled recruiting. Look at how he has handled his coaching staff and the people that work for him. Honestly if the fan base wants to defend this guy then you probably deserve him.

Auburn will be just fine. Watch and see. UT's SS is my concern.

It does mean something, just not as much as someone like Nationdom thinks.

For example, Michigan has a really recognizable brand. Even among 17-year-olds today. And it doesn't have anything to do with anything the team as achieved since about 1997. Michigan has a brand largely built upon stuff that the program achieved before World War II.

Are they relevant? Not all that much, which hurts them today, but they still are recognizable. Recognizability is a foot in the door.

Two things, one, though AU might not get their first choice of candidate, they will probably still have a better record than us next year. Two, Steele and Chaney's comparison is moot because promoting Chaney might actually be an upgrade. I bet he to can win at least 3 games. Truth is, change is better than no change, but if you want the band to still play as the ship sinks, than Pruitt and Fulmer it is :rolleyes:
