Be careful what you wish for:

I am not saying CBJ is comparable to CPF. Just saying Fulmer took 6 seasons to win East and SEC and he inherited a stable, loaded program with only 2 other strong SEC programs in Florida and Bama. And Bama was on a downward slide.

The UF point is solid tho. They were substantially more stable than anything in the east right now. Similar to Miles IMO, Fulmer is looked at much different if Spurrier is somewhere else other than FL. There is nothing remotely close to that as an opposition in the east right now.

Who say Tennessee would fire a coach who might win ten games this year and pay his $10 million buyout, if only we had an AD? Lol. Right. Good one. And I've got some ocean front property here in Knoxville I'll sell you.

While you got him there, Freak, get him to buy my luxury edition Yugo. It has a working cassette deck, matching seat covers, and floor mats. Just 25,000. A steal!

Completely different game then. If you can't understand that then you can't be helped. I'm sick of hearing this. 20 years ago you couldn't check the Internet on your phone. Times change brother and so does the game.

The only thing that's different is fans adopting loser mentality. What used to be unacceptable is now suddenly a standard? Because you can now check the Internet on your phone?
No wonder Trump won the election - maybe there is still some hope left this country can be fixed and recover common sense. :hi:

I don't remember any of Phil's teams giving up 600+ yards to teams like UK and Mizzou, or losing to team as bad as SCjr in a must win game.

Arky '99 had absolutely no business beating Tennessee. Vols win and we likely get a rematch with Florida State in the BCS Championship.

2000 LSU beat us the week after they lost to UAB at home.

2000 Florida beat us after we kick 4 FGs in the red zone in the first half.

2000 Georgia beat us - the same year they fired Donnan.

2001 SECCG vs LSU ring a bell?

The 2 back to back peach bowl losses (Maryland, Clemson) sucked too.

Vandy game in '05 was must-win if you care about going to a bowl game.

Atracks coming as I predicted.

So now you're Kreskin? Easy prediction for you when even you know you're being a weirdo rolling out the "friends in high places" card to support your credibility, laughable.

I said upfront that I would be attacked for my saying I know high level boosters. Guess I should have stayed quiet.

In Fulmer's defense, the Wyoming game was the Saturday after his termination was announced. Team was screwed up mentally.

My main complaints for him were his half measures to team discipline, and recruiting late in his tenure. Losing Patrick Willis to Ole Miss was grossly inexcusable. Not being able to function without Cutcliffe. Nobody remembers the unrest with the losses which led to Sanders being fired, or being a scapegoat. Cut coming back saved his butt. But when Cut went to Duke, he falls in love with Clawson's crazy scheme, but they could not teach it to the players. That and no foreseeable actions against increasing player arrests did not set well, and that is why Hamilton pulled the trigger.

Say what you want about Butch, and yes I realize players have still gotten arrested on his watch. But he has done more proactive things to change that than we ever got out of Fulmer.

Wyoming was 4-8 (1-7). No excuse. I think it sticks out because it was my kids' first game. Wyoming really was terrible though. You have a good point about Coach Cut. People forget that.

Since the new 2016 Negavol standard of firing coaches is fire everyone who loses a game that they were not supposed to, lets start handing out pink slips...

Butch Jones - Loss to USC - fired
Jim Harbaugh – Loss to Iowa – fired
Urban Meyer – Loss to Penn State – fired
Bobby Petrino – Beat down by Houston – fired
Tom Herman – SMU and Navy – life in prison
Dabo Swinney – Loss to Pitt – fired
Jimbo Fisher – Loss to UNC – fired
Chris Petersen – Loss to USC - fired

No content and emojis. Typical of your posts.

Thank God there is still common sense in America though because there is very little on this board. Let's go Vols and you've got my support CBJ!

They came in 2012. It didn't mean a damn thing, other than they overestimated us.

I was saying that Gameday was involved in a lot of our football games this year. I'm guessing more than any other school. That was my point. I think that makes us relevant.

How much are they talking about us now? They may have thought we would be relevant, but we proved them wrong.

Only one small problem with this is that Butch Jones does not belong to that list of highly accomplished coaches.

Butch is no Phil.

What did CPF do?, have the best teams known to mankind and not win a NC and not get a Heisman, he won the NC on a bunch of men that he didn't think could win it after Manning left............your right, talk about underachieving! UT should have had 2-3 NC in the Manning years, but had their lower posteriors handed to them by Nebraska and Penn State.....yea your right, he is no CPF.

So you admit that Butch has performed similarly, and those are highly accomplished coaches? Even better since he does not belong there. Almost sounds like you mean that he over performed

Why? where are their excuses? they had superior teams without the injures.......they lost to inferior teams. Your right, CBJ should be above these posers.

Lyle can't even hold CPF's strap. What has Lyle ever won?

He has won a MAC and a Big East Championship. Maybe not SEC conferences but Fulmer rarely beat Florida for the SEC EAST, and in 4 short years CBJ may have 2nd best record in the SEC this year.
Coach K at Duke would never have been given a chance if some of these Vol fans were there his first few seasons.
Give Jones a few more years, enjoy the 12 games we get to cheer. He may actually continue improving.
