2007 was in a much different situation

Look how much helped they'd need at this point in a week and a half though

(ND only has 1 game left so they can't lose 2 games; and essentially everyone else would need to lose the next two weeks - meaning Alabama would have to lose to Auburn, UGA would have to lose to GA Tech, UF would have to lose to FSU, (A&M might have to lose to Missouri...although a 3 way tie would be needed by LSU), Oregon would have to lose to Oregon State....and then the next weekend, LSU would need to be at the top of the BCS standings in comparison to Alabama and A&M for the tiebreaker, then Kansas State would have to lose to Texas, Florida State would have to lose to Miami or GA Tech...it's still slightly possible, but it's way too much to be realistically possible, especially only looking at - best case scenario - only 1 spot to work with....this is just a whole different set of circumstances than what they had to work through in 2007)

They need Florida State to beat Florida, but then lose in the ACC Championship (or hope to remain ahead of them in the computer rankings). Just to be safe, they need Kansas State to lose another game, but I think they'll be ahead of the Wildcats in the next BCS standings anyway.

Don't know, I think you likely need more than 3; though a Bama loss can put you back in the SEC title

Oregon may fall behind LSU in the standings this week, and there's no guarantee that they'd be able to leapfrog LSU later. Oregon needs help just to make their conference title game. Any loss for Georgia (definitely), Florida (definitely), or Alabama (possibly) will drop them behind the Tigers. Florida State is already behind LSU in the standings, with no guarantee they can leapfrog them later. Kansas State will be playing catch-up in the standings as well. Now, if it were to happen, there would be an uproar over a 2-loss, no conference championship LSU squad getting in the BCS title game over..say a 1-loss ACC Champion FSU, but that's how the numbers could shake out.

Of course, all of this would be moot if LSU can't beat Arkansas.

After the standings, it looks like it still may well be LSU, more than likely, needing everything I mentioned earlier to jump back into it. Oregon and Kansas State both fell in front of them:

Anybody else a little happy Ohio State will probably be undefeated and tOSU & Big 10 fans could be forced to watch an all SEC title game.

The offseason ESPN lovefest for the Buckeyes is gonna be out of control

Was a good game. Bama made some special teams blunders.

Bama did absolutely mash UGA's run defense.

Could you be any more of a dumbass? It was a four point game with the largest lead being 7 and Georgia inside the 10 with a chance to win at the end. Bama came nowhere close to mashing Georgia in the game like you originally claimed.

Only if I was you.

UGA blew a 11 point lead. They got mashed, out scored by 15 after taking a blocked fg for a TD.

Saban screwed up a timeout. McCarron threw a terrible end zone interception. UGA played their best and Bama played ok.

You could play that game 10 times and no one with a brain bets on UGA.

So the score was close, stroking yourself or something now?
