Same old, same old- though it's depressing that the anti-BCS group is folding so easily this time.
First we had the CFA- which came under anti-trust investigation and folded, re-emerging as the Bowl Alliance.
Then the Bowl Alliance got investigated, sued, folded, and re-emerged as the Bowl Coalition.
Ditto, and we have the BCS.
Notice that this time, though, all that it took (for the very same CFA, BA, BC, & BCS players) to save their scheme was to add a token game. The BCS didn't even have to make a token change of name this time, just make a gesture to the cheap seats that will have zero effect on the overall system, but will put a pittance more in the CF "nizzles" coffers than they had before. The worst part, is now people will think the claim that all the anti-BCS people want is a piece of the pie is true.
Personally, I feel kind've dumb for not seeing this coming when both sides called their special review councils the "Presidential" some-such. In a country where the straights have had their educational funding cut for decades and therefore consider the Presidency more compromised by knob-jobs than funding terrorists, you've got to figure the adjective "Presidential" in front of a investigatory body isn't a sign of good things to come....
