BCS Computer Glitch

It had no affect on the games. Boise St still has a loss and they play in a weak-arse conference. It is what it is. Boise will find a reason to complain every year.

Would there ever be a glitch if the Champion were decided on the field?
(NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, All other NCAA sports, FIFA, and so on and so on)

It would be so much better. But, teams like Boise will still find a way to complain even if there was a playoff system.

If they wanna be seriously considered, join a big conference and see how well you do.

I'm getting tired of Boise St. and their self proclaimed greatness.

What Boise lacks in strength of schedule, they more than make up for it in blueness.

That really depends on if they win or not.

I dont understand why the results of an FCS playoff game involving Appalachian State and Western Illinois had anything to do with the BCS standings, I thought the BCS is for Divison 1 not Divison 2 teams like App State (not sure if they are rly called division 1 and 2 but u no what im gettin at) so why would the results of that game have anything to do with the BCS standings. Can anyone explain this to me in a simple way or version.

Exactly. Only way they can be relevant. Otherwise, they're a weak version of WVU with worse admission standards.

Yup. If their kicker doesn't choke and Alabama doesn't choke, they're playing for the national title against another team that doesn't have the best talent but is overachieving due to a weak schedule. Essentially, a major conference version of themselves. They're more likely to win a title under that scenario than one in which they have to play multiple teams with elite talent to win a national title.

Another one for you.... How can the results be "final" with 2 bowl teams still having a game to play in Army-Navy this weekend. I would think that possibly one of the BCS teams played them or an opponants opponant did which is figured into the calculations

I don't have a link for it. But that's what my brother's wife's uncle's boyfriend's cousin (once removed) told me. She knows someone from Idaho and they all said it is blue.

He was "that kind of uncle " then huh?

This had nothing to do with Boise. Jerry Palm was going over the data and there was an error in one of the computer rankings. He pointed it out and the BCS corrected it. The scary part is it could have effected anyone. It happened to be Boise and LSU this time, but it just as easily could have been Oregon and TCU. The big concern is just one of the computer ratings allows their data to be public, the rest the BCS takes at their word with no oversight whatsoever.
