Although this team won't be shooting as many 3's, I think the overall speed of play will be even more uptempo, with more pressing (similar to the '06-'07 team). You're going to see fewer 3's next year throughout college basketball, since they're moving the line back a bit (a move I agree with). We will be incredibly long, athletic and deep. Lots of forced turnovers, lots of steals, lots of blocked shots, lots of dunks/layups in transition, and a much greater emphasis, I think, on inside scoring, with Hopson and Tyler slashing (and Maze, to some extent), Chism and Tyler and B-Dub banging down low.
The "starting five" really doesn't matter so much as average minutes played, and I see it breaking down like this:
Tyler 30
Chism 25
Hopson 25
Tatum 20
Maze 25
West 15
Prince 25
Williams 20
Tabb 5-10
Negedu 5-10
There's your 10-man rotation. Plenty of depth. Pearl understands that if you're going to play at a very fast pace - "controlled chaos" - you can't have guys out there for 36, 38, 40 minutes a game.
Any extra/injury/mop-up minutes: Woolridge, Childress, Stephen Pearl
Jurick will have to redshirt. He would never see the floor. I can't remember a time when UT's had this kind of post depth. In recent history, we've been thin at the post, deep in the frontcourt.
This team will crush people. Dominate. Destroy. Watch. It's going to be fun.
