Anyone confirm???

My USC friend just told me we signed a home-home agreement to play the Trojans beginning this season.

I'm not seeing it posted anywhere, but of course...the schedule hasn't been released either.

dunno how reliable this site is, but....

Scott Wolf inside USC

Here Come The Vols

USC's basketball game with Florida might be off, but the Trojans and Tennessee agreed to a home-and-home series beginning in 2008.

both are up and coming programs that were nothing just two years ago...very similar resurgences with new coaches

sounds like a great storyline

regular season might not be the only time we matchup over the next few

Another year, but it should be great. Floyd has built a great team out there.
There's an outside chance the game might be played this year. However, SC's schedule is already loaded. Next year makes much more sense for them. If it's played this year, I'm fairly certain it would be in LA.

Wolf is pretty keyed in on the trojans. even though trojan fans dislike the man, he's rarely wrong.

This would also be great exposure for our bball team in the cali area, cause a ton of talent comes out of that state every year

Just heard some talk about Tim Floyd on the Tony Kornheiser show this morning. They were saying he's offered a middle schooler a scholarship already. Anyone?

Also, Tony and David somebody (reporter for Washington Post) said that he's the smoothest talker in the business but can't coach a lick. That there are 500 HS bball coaches in the country better than he is. I knew UT wanted him before we hired Buzz, but I didn't know that much about him.

This could be an interesting matchup with two guys who are seemingly masters at all the non-Xs and Os of the game (recruiting, motivating, marketing, etc.).

Floyd is one of the best coaches in the country. And turned around SC instantly. Remember this is a school that had consistantly been at the bottom of the pac-10 in basketball.

I guess Kornheiser and crew's response would be that his success is mostly due to his recruiting, not his coaching. I don't know the first thing about him and have hardly watched a game - I just know he's got some sick talent.

That's why i mentioned he turned them around immediately. He won with players he didn't recruit. The mark of a truly good coach is showing immediate improvement after taking over.

Some facts about floyd (the guy wins everywhere):

Tim Floyd - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

University of Idaho
In his first season, the Vandals posted their first winning record since Don Monson left for Oregon after the 20-9 1983 season

University of New Orleans
At the University of New Orleans, Floyd tallied a 127-58 mark in six seasons as head coach. During his tenure, UNO advanced to postseason play five times, including two NCAA Tournament appearances in 1991 and 1993 and the NIT three times. At UNO, Floyd averaged 21 wins a season. Floyd is one of only four Division I coaches who have won four conference championships in the first five years at their school.

Iowa State University
In his first season with the Cyclones, Floyd guided the team to a then-school-record 23 victories and the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

University of Southern California
Floyd's initial season may be regarded as a success. The 2005-2006 Trojans finished the regular season with a 17-12 (8-10) record and sixth place in the Pacific 10 Conference ("Pac-10"), including three conference losses by a combined nine points.

For the 2006-2007 season, Floyd led the Trojans to a 25-12 (13-8) record (most wins in school history) and third place in the Pacific 10 Conference ("Pac-10").

Thanks for the info., droski. With his record, I'd like to know why they were not so high on his coaching abilities. Maybe they were referring mostly to his NBA record with the Bulls (49-190 over 4 seasons).
