BB has transferred.. (rumor)

Didn't read the giant wall of text. First sentence was bland and last was nearly unfathomably stupid.

I would have to agree. To say that players dont play for a specific team but merely for the coach of the team is probably the most unintelligent thing I have read on this board in a month, and that's a lot of reading he just trumped.

First of all a player usually plays for a coach not a team. Bryce is one of the most talented and hard working kids on the team. Coach K was quoted saying that. I live in wichita and have been watching Bryce since he was in little league. He played behind one of the best and toughest backs in the country in Hardesty. I believe Hardesty had one of the best combine workouts out of all the backs that were there leading in a few of the categories that were tested. I believe that Bryce had almost 600 total yards and 4tds on a season where he played hurt. Until this past season, Hardesty never eclipsed those numbers. Bryce is family oriented and his family is still in Kansas and with his brother recently transferring from Miami to K-State and Coach K leaving to USC im sure has a little bit to do with him possibly leaving the University of Tennessee. Before you judge him put yourself in his shoes. The Vols have no one that is a SEC type of QB next season and thats what he needs as well as to run from the I instead of a spread offense. He personally knows and has a relationship with coach snyder as well as his brother and also Chris Harper who transferred there from Oregon. All of them are from Wichita as well as some other players who have made the decision to go to K state. I believe had Snyder never quit coaching that things might have been different at K state. Bryce is a good kid and with all the off the field trouble the vols had with the players trying to rob people and the stuff surrounding the program I cant blame him for rethinking his decision.

I believe that Bryce has talent and could have been a great RB at UT. He has his reasons for wanting to leave and I'll respect that. To say he re-thought his decision because of what some knuckleheads did is just crazy. That type of stuff could happen at any school.

So.....UT doesn't have a SEC type QB so he transfers to Kansas Freaking State? They suck. I bet against them every game of the season, no joke.

The last thing Coach D indicated was that Bryce was currently not part of the team due to some personal issues, but he would definitely be in school through the end of the spring term. I'm not sold on this as true yet...

Not that it means he will be back on the team at any point, but I think the coaching staff is doing their best to help Bryce do what is best for him. I truly respect that.
There has been no official announcement that BB is transferring to Kansas State or any other school. I heard this morning on 104.5 the zone that it was better than 50/50 that he would return to UT. The source was saying that BB's father wants him to transfer to KSU to be with his brother, but that BB wants to stay at Tennessee. We haven't lost him yet.

So let's end all the rumors and speculation and see how this plays out.

Ignorance is bliss.

You must be orgasmic.

well, while we are jumping to conclusions...Bray is so small there is no way he is going to get drafted.

yeah K state puts a ton of RB's into the NFL,,no knock on the kid,but bad decision. He would get a TON more TV time at UT,and that gets ya big time bucks.

and if hes just playing for a coach and not his team members, well that's just not a stand up guy,,I don't think that's a accurate statement in this case, least I hope it's not!

If he is good at K-State, he'll still get drafted. Look at all of the small schools that had some good/decent players invited to the combine. Competing in the SEC will better prepare him, but it's not like going to K-State will keep him out of the NFL. Although I do think if he has the same success at K-State as he would have had at UT, then he would be higher drafted coming out of UT.

Wish him well... Tranfering to K-State to sit out a year when you are the number 2 back last season and the number 1 left to the NFL will hurt his draft status more than anything else I believe unless maybe the Chiefs want to take a chance... everyone else has to worry that he might quit.

There's more to life than football. Let the guy be. If he was leaving for football reasons, then the last school he'd want to transfer to would be K-State.

I haven't heard any true confirmed facts on why he would choose to leave, so it would be ignorant to take any of the rumors as fact and just run with it. However, considering his brother left Miami for K-State as well, there must be some important family issues which in all honesty are none of our damn business. If they really wanted to play together Bryce could have just signed with Miami.

Best of luck to BB.

Good point ab them both to Kstate. Def is evidence of something important to them. They are human beings. He didn't quit mid season or anything, let him be.

Welcome to the board. Great post.

This isn't what Bryce wants. If it was totally up to him, he'd be here. But he's getting alot of family pressure to come back to Kansas. His family has some little-league parents in it that are driving this. They thought he should have started from day one, ditto for his brother at Miami.

He DOES NOT have a pregnant girlfriend. That is a boldface lie that someone made up and started spreading.

This has zero to do with anything other than a young man trying to please his family, even if he knows its not in his best interests.

As much as I hate to say it, if he really is under that kind of pressure, then the best thing for him to do would be to transfer back closer to home.

Under those circumstances, the family would be a huge distraction and having them always in the back of his mind could translate onto the field.

Until I hear something straight from Coach Dooley or Bryce himself, however, I'm not going to believe a shred of any rumors.

And thanks for the welcome SGM.

:cray:I personally hate to see him leave. He may not have been an every down back, but he did have talent. We always need depth at any position, but we have a good stable of backs especially with Neal coming in the fall.:eek:k:

Bryce needs to stay. It's time to cut the apron strings. If he develops the way everyone expects, he will be living in a NFL city in 2 to 3 years anyway and will have to do it then for sure. Why postpone that by sitting out a year. If he needs to go back because some of his immediate family is drastically ill then that's different. It's time Bryce tells Dad that it's his life and it's his decision. It's all just part of growing up. It's now time for him to decide when he is his own man.

Heard the same, apparently its his dad who wants him there but he wants to stay.

Tough choice if thats the story.

Whatever he decides, good luck to him.

I hate to see him go. Although his freshman year didn't live up to what we wanted it to, I think he is going to be a great back. He looked unstoppable in the High school all star game and he looked great against UCLA. Furthermore, I shelled out $100+ for two #11 jerseys for my boys who loved him. #^$%#@

Bryce brown will be transferring to Kansas state A&M Tech after spring semester.

I agree with you except for the UCLA part.

I have nothing against BB, regardless of whether he goes or stays.

But, as another poster postulated (whew)...if he was here only because he wanted to play for Kiffin, then good riddance.

It's gotta be tough living through, and with, the media circus and all the drama that surrounded BB before, during, and even after he became a Vol.

Welcome to the bigs, Bryce. It gets worse from here.

As for Tennessee Football, it will go on. We might miss Bryce Brown, but there will be another...and then another...and then another.

If you go back and look, UT has managed to find a productive, and sometimes spectacular tailback, at least once in almost all four year rotations. We're due, and apparently BB isn't it.

But "It" is probably already here...

Go Vols.

What better way to help out the fam than getting a NFL contract? Seems like he would have an easier & faster path to the NFL playing for UT. With the SEC/ESPN hype machine on his side he could be the next Knowshon Moreno (sp)
