Has anyone seen both he and Bullock?

Ive only seen highlights on TV here in Chatt, but from what i have heard he is a FES with no previous American football experience, but played alot of soccer. Apparently has a strong leg.

Oh yeah, last I checked we had the #1 kicker and #1 punter coming out of high school two years ago.....how have they turned out?

Kid kicked a 57 yarder against Bradley Central early in the season. Everyone of his kickoffs went through the endzone. Best high school kicker I have ever seen.

See Palardy's HS video.......same thing. Not that this kid isn't good, but we thought we struck gold with Palardy and Darr.

Baylors kicker is the real deal. He is better than 80% of kickers on FBS rosters right now. No lie.

Ribeiro is a big kid. He has a totally different build than Palardy. He kicks the ball like he is pissed...He is no pussy foot like palardy.

Agreed. No short-line drives, either. Kid can kick. The real question is, can he be any worse than Palardy? I don't think so. :nono:

Its a no brainer to me. Kick palardy out and sign this kid.

Problem is he wants to play soccer professionally.

I read about him in the paper here in Chattanooga and Wilhoit was there singing his praises. I'm sure he knows how to spot a good kicker.

After working on the technique needed to make the transition from the game he grew up playing, soccer, to American football, Ribeiro has put together one of the most impressive single-season resumes in state history.

The 6-foot, 220-pound senior is 7-of-10 in field-goal attempts, having made kicks of 51, 52 and 57 yards as well as three others from 40-plus yards. He is perfect on extra-point attempts, and 45 of his 47 kickoffs have gone for touchbacks. Two of his missed field-goals tries were from beyond 50 yards, including a 54-yard attempt that came up just short at the end of regulation in top-ranked Baylor's only loss at Brentwood Academy.

I said a couple of months ago UT needs to take a look at him. He's better than the Bullock kid from West and I don't think it's even close.

Not sure. But I do know that there isn't much interest from him in playing college football.

I saw the kid at the Bradley-Baylor game earlier this year...He's the real deal...VERY strong leg, and this guy isn't a little skinny-looking girly man! He kicked a 54 or 57 yd field goal in the Bradley game that hit the cross-bar before going over...

He gets tremendous heighth on the ball and puts them into the end zone every time...

Haven't seen the other kicker--but I'd take this guy over anybody! :salute:

Who was the kid several years ago that was amazing coming out of high school and was lights out in practice and warmups but was awful once he got into the game? Had some sort of stage fright type thing going on or something IIRC.

My dad is close friends with the coach of West, and apparently Dooley evalulated Bullock once up close in Nashville during a kicking workout before he commited. He said that Dooley walked out onto the field, saw him kick once from college kick off position that landed in the endzone. He immediately left saying something along the words, "that's all I need to see" following a scholarship offer the next day.


I know my word ain't worth **** on here, but I just thought it was an interesting evaluation and thought I would share.

I really dont care if they kick it in the endzone 10/20 times but if they can hit a 40 yard field goal with ease in the sec...then they are not worth it...

Tripper...is this a true story? Or care to comment? That would explain some things...? Ole Dooley is starting to really disappoint me

Maybe he had already seen enough tape on the guy. Or maybe had seen enough or another coach had seen him already. Who knows what Dooley was thinking, and maybe he was to busy to sit out there and watch him all day. Who knows???? Dooley is smarter than most, and knows how to evaluate. That's not the issue we have to worry about right now.

We need a kicker that can handle pressure, and can kick 40+ yard fgs without worrying about him not being able to to do it. Like another poster said...kicking in the endzone every time is the least of what we need to concern ourselves with.
