Baylor HS's offensive tackles, from TFP

In particular, the Red Raiders' punching power is at tackle, where massive seniors Charlie Edgeworth (6-foot-7, 325 pounds) and Gabe Osenda (6-7, 330) dictate the productivity.

Just damn, good news is Osenda is committed to us. Edgeworth is committed to Lewville, along with their QB

That is an enormous pair of HS tackles. Just take turns - run left, run right. Hard to see how a HS defense avoids giving up 3-4 yds per play.

I (6-2, 225 in 1990 (( still the same weight, but not the same BMI)) ) played Left Tackle jr and sr years of high school. My senior year I lined up against a guy that was 6-5, 300. He was the biggest guy I had ever seen up close, but not as fast as the big guys today. He owned me for almost the entire 1st quarter and got past me 4 times to hit my QB. Around the 3 minute mark left in the 1st, I figured out how to use my angles and legs to get him pushing outside instead of getting to go straight at my QB. He had so much more mass and strength, it took a while to get his real measure. He got 2 more hits on my QB. My QB and team thought that was awesome, and I was given the game ball.

That guy played for Ole Miss. He was a really good high school player. If I can remember his name, I will post it.

Cool story, but the story is nothing compared to the fact that you weight the same today as in 1990!

So true. I gained weight after USAF. Was 280, but Wegovy helped me get down to 225. Now I need to rebuild muscle mass and lose 20 more pounds. Problems is, when I get to 210-215, that weight is stretched skin, not fat.

It sucks I did this to myself.

Moussa Seck (McCallie)

In his first season with the program last year, the 6-4, 325 pounder helped the Blue Tornado amass more than 4,100 yards against a challenging schedule. He has numerous college scholarship offers, including from Auburn, Syracuse and Vanderbilt.

Baylor has had some great players in the past…I believe the Hannah brothers played thee and I think they were ranked #1 nationally way back in 1974…great facilities and coaching.

McCallie has won five of the last six state football championships in that division , despite the various great athletes Baylor has brought in to its program.

Pretty sure McCallie has had some huge physical specimens in the guard -tackle positions that were the size of current Baylor players referenced.

It is a team sport, and the McCallie coaching staff has been stable during those last five title years. Big factor IMO

Baylor has had some great players in the past…I believe the Hannah brothers played thee and I think they were ranked #1 nationally way back in 1974…great facilities and coaching.

Also have an Outland Trophy winner in Joe Steffy. Joe played one year at UT in 44 and then transferred to West Point where he won the Outland in 47. He played with Glenn Davis and Doc Blanchard.

In the 50s and 60s they had a pipeline to GT for players not smart enough to get into college after HS and would do a PG year at Baylor. We got a few though like Bill Johnson and Rusty Kidd.
