Baylen Buchanan reminding Tennessee Vols football coaches of a young Cameron Sutton

“The guy who’s come in and really earned the respect of his teammates and coaches is Baylen Buchanan,” Shoop said during a half-hour press conference inside the Ray and Lucy Hand Digital Studio. “He’s a guy that we think can contribute now. I’ve heard people on the staff compare him to Cam Sutton when he was a freshman. He’s long, he’s athletic, he’s got good ball skills, he’s very composed."

WOW.

Extremely high praise young Mr. Buchanan.

If he can be even half as good as Cam Sutton, we'll have the best secondary in the country for years to come.

Butch and the staff continue to prove to be masters at finding diamonds in the rough.

SHOOPS: "What he does out there — and this is a lesson to anybody — he plays techniques as they’re coached, and he plays them to the best of his ability. And he just keeps his mouth shut and does his job."

Man, I'm liking Shoops more and more. I wonder if he had anyone in particular in mind when he said it was important to keep one's mouth shut?

If he's literally half as good as Sutton he'll never play a down at Tennessee. Miller was probably half as good as Cam and he just left the program.

We need him every bit as good or better than Cam/an All-SEC player like Cam and it sounds like he's gotta good chance to be just that.

Pretty sure the comment was meant as hyperbole...

Butch brought in two kids whose fathers were both pro-bowl DBs and they're the first two to get the stripes removed. Seems like we got something special in Buchanan and Warrior.

The next Sutton and Eric Berry is what it seems like.

I recognized that, saw the common saying that he used......his whole purpose in life is evidently hyperbole. D4H likes to argue points of minutae and split hairs over points that don't need splitting. Just returned the favor.

Said when he signed, I will say it again. All-SEC Corner. Just a natural player at the position.

Only concern might be top end speed which a good S&C and flexibility program can help with.

I say what I think. You may not like it but it's what I believe.

KBVol basically admitted he just said something that he doesn't believe. He just said it as some shot towards me.

It was rather pathetic.

So you fully believe that Dobbs and Hurd finish 1-2 in the Heisman voting?

That would be pretty darn sweet.
