Battlefield Tactics of Lesser CO's

Wondering if anyone has any references to lower level commissioned officer tactics during war.

Its easy to search online and find the general grand battle scheme of Generals, but is there a good reference of lesser officer battle strategy in say, wwII or vietnam? would be interesting, I think, to delve into the battle plan of smaller operations rather than grand scale strategy stuff.

I assume these things are taught at military colleges but for a civilian trying to find this research it is a bit more challenging.

Read "The Bear Went Over The Mountain ", good book about Soviet small unit actions in Afghanistan.

Theres also a plethora of stuff by line officers from Vietnam, from everywhere from straight legs, to arps and lrrps.
