Battlefield 3

Trying to get into this game. Any tips for a noob on best weapons and strategies? I've been playing mostly close quarters since I'm not a huge fan of giant maps.

Tip 1 is don't play close quarters.

The guns you start with are the most balanced, if not the best. Use cover, use the back button to spot, and hang with your squad. You can never throw down too many ammo or health packs.

Play rush, you'll be in more or less a constant firefight, it'll suck but it gives you plenty of chances to learn the in's and out's.

Which class is best? Back spots? Good to know. How do I throw down health or ammo (depending on the class obviously)?

Appreciate the advice.

What is it about Close Quarters that you don't like. I was playing domination and it seemed pretty fun.

It just doesn't have the "Battlefield Experience"

gun master is fun to dick around with, but the small "bullpen" maps are just not my cup of tea. Armored Kill is the exact opposite, the maps are too big to keep things interesting.

If you take those maps out, the remainder are a good variety
