Nice work on the trophy!

Serious question, how much zoom were you using on the sideline pic from the stands?

None actually and that was taken all the way up in the bristol suite. I don't think the view from the sidelines will be that bad. The views from the endzones are going to be pretty crappy.

You are going to need to keep adding zeros. It took 300 man hours to produce. That doesn't include the art and rendering time. I guess there will always be haters

You have to understand that Biopsyman is the Donald Trump of Volnation, reactionary, straight off the cuff, to the point, and unfiltered. Very nice work, btw.

Thanks. I'm on that side. I think I'll be watching most of it on the replay boards....Going for the spectacle!

I designed it along with one of the artists that I work with. They changed the final design from our original. The stem and football were originally going to be crystal. That part of it came from our sears nc trophy. It was going to curve to mimic the racetrack and lead up to the ball, but they trophy maker was unable to reproduce it.It ended up looking more like the Lombardi than I wanted but hey what can you do. The wood is made from a Tennessee hardwood. It's hard to see on the stem, but there is a checker board running up both sides. This trophy was designed by a Vol, voted on by Volnation, and made for The Vols to bring home to Knoxville.

Congrats and I remember voting and you winning. Thanks for the update. TRUE VFL Status is CERTAINLY in order for your contribution.

Bristol Herald Courier story says Jody Nilsen is the designer and winner. Me thinks there's some leg pulling going on here.

On page 2 of the thread he is pictured with the trophy and I believe track promoter Jerry Caldwell. Id say its safe to call off the black helicopters :mf_surrender:

Trophy unveiled for Battle at Bristol

I am mentioned somewhat in this article. Bristol wanted 1 winner for the design so I let her submit it since she is an artist and can actually benefit from it. I am a shipping manager. You can belive it or not it really doesn't bother me.

Just curious about the background is all. Paper didn't really interview her. Just a little background. I'm old and grew up with Paul Harvey -- I always want the rest of the story.

Trust me I was pretty upset that I wasn't included more in the press releases.

Kudos to ya man!!!! That's a better story than BHC had. Told a little more. I wasn't digging at ya-- just being my nosy self. Again, fantastic job. :clapping::clapping:

Great looking trophy, it will be good practice for the boys when they start lifting some a few more at the end of the season. Ready to go back to Tampa.
