Could someone who's more familiar with DC comics (I was more a Marvel kid) please fill me in on who Hugo Strange is? I get that he knows who batman is....but how? And why?

I think it releases in a couple of months. I'll probably rent it only to get to the very end and my wife "accidentally" corrupting the file.

I was seriously on the final boss battle with Joker and it got corrupted. I was pissed.
