Quotes got messed up with tennrich:

Oh, I think GP is arrogant and many times thinks his opinion is the correct one. But I think that is different than being a homer. Many times, he has criticized Memphis or its athletic department. He was calling for the termination of Tubby Smith after his first year. I just don't believe that he is a homer. He is a national writer and realizes that he has to be objective. There are times that his arguments make a lot of sense. He was the beat writer for Memphis basketball when JC was there, and that is different. That said, I think GP will say that JC was not the biggest fan of his.

This, exactly. If Mike White can't win with this kind of talent, then he's not going to win. Starting to feel like another coach from La Tech that couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag despite multiple pros on his team.

The more they play, the more disappointed I am with Blackshear. Could have cemented us as a top 15 team. Would have solidified our front court, and he would be getting shots.

We’re not ranked in the top 25 in any poll that actually matters lol.

But nonetheless, if we can manage a W over Washington, we can get that ranking!

Ok Ok...GP is an ok guy. Been around since he was a kid...BUT...the only reason he was down on Tubby is obvious...all of Tiger nation was too...But I do think he's getting better with his objectivity...well he's actually had too. And yeah he was upset with Cal for LEAVING!!!

We will go as far as Yves Pons can take us, as odd as that sounds. If he keeps on playing like he is right now, we will have a lot of fire power. I'm just worried he's going to regress to past Yves. If he can score 14ppg and block 2 shots and grab 7 boards a game we can run at the Sweet 16 again if everyone can be healthy. Unfortunately he probably can't keep shooting 77 percent from the floor.

Tennessee debuts at #17 in CBS's Top 25 & 1 poll after Tuesday night's convincing win against OVC power Murray State! With the rest of the SEC looking shaky so far, maybe we will fair better than expected. If Plavsic gets cleared, who knows...

College Basketball Rankings: Ohio State stomps Villanova and jumps into the top 10 of the updated Top 25 And 1

It's early yet, but how far do you think this team can go?

I think we have the best coach, that counts like 2, one and done, 5 star players. Team is still filling out, hard to tell what the conference team will look like. After we play a team with 3 strong backline players I will know more.

OVC 'power', are you reading what you type? lol

What's the issue with that statement? Since 2010 they've won 5 regular season titles, 5 conference tournaments, and won their division 4 times in the 5 years it had divisions. They've been to 17 NCAA tournaments and were in the round of 32 last year. They are their conference power.

I think we can make the NCAAT. And with quality guard leadership we could even make it to the 2nd weekend thanks to the 3pt line. But that's tops imo.
Yeah, I am thinking Pons looks better than Schofield did throughout the first two-thirds of his Junior year and Bowden is playing as good as Bone when it comes to scoring.

Turner is a really good guard and will fill Bone’s shoes and can also score big time. He just had a bad day.

Fulky replaces Alexander...

What we cannot replace, however, is Williams...

We have some kids showing some promise... but he is a player we will not see the likes of this year at least. Albeit, Barnes is known for developing people... so we shall see what happens.

Ignore him; he’s beating this horse to death.
