Basketball - there is a problem

How dare you? Lamonte is as clutch as clutch is. He does struggle with different things and the same things @ the beginning of each year. As long as he’s healthy he knows what he’s doing and he needs to find that rhythm J before this weekend

Yeah, Barnes wouldn't let it go and it kinda got uncomfortable, but Barnes can be ruthless towards Bob. Bob is a lot better as a basketball announcer than football, imo

Agree. He is very good at calling a basketball game

Agree - he has a tendency to beat up Bob - it’s starts out somewhat good natured but can reach a point where it is excessive.

Bob is bad at both .. my goodness he needs to learn to add in football ... he will say .. run from the 33 to the 38. . 2nd down 7 .. or its 2nd and 8 after a gain of 4 ...🤔 .. then in basketball .. I was listening in my truck ...he went 20 mins without giving a score .. I was hollering at radio .. what is the damn score Bob . You idiot

The part when he asked Bob if he thought he was a better basketball announcer or football announcer?

Then he asked the crowd if Bob was better at basketball than football. And he gave Bob $**+ by telling him to chose right then between calling the Vandy football game or the holiday basketball tournament.

He gave Bert a hard time too. Wanted to know if he was a flopper when he played.

Nobody seemed uncomfortable except for Smokey. He wasn't enjoying sitting next to Barnes and kept acting like he had somewhere to go.

It's the opposite of Dearstone. He gives the score and time left in the quarter at least once EVERY possession.

Smokey was wanting to make his escape before they wrap him up in that yellow blanket and take him back out on the football field to freeze his ass off. He say, "what happened to em games down south where a boy can loll in da sun."

Speaking of problems. Anyone think RB went a little too far needling Bob last night on the post game show?
Boy, I heard that and it was quite interesting. It's almost like he professes to really like, but in reality, maybe he dislikes him so much that he takes this passive-aggressive stance. Interesting dynamics.

It might have come across on the radio much worse than it really was. I was sitting right there and everybody was smiling and laughing.

Imagine having a guy in college basketball that averages over 9 assists per game and is undefeated and you want the ball in his hands less

I chuckle at all this hand wringing over how bad we're going to be, yet we're winning. And UK, Duke, Florida are all over there actually losing games to teams they should beat.

I look forward to basketball season so much, but some of this fanbase is so damn stupid about CBB, hard to read sometimes.

I mean I get we have real concerns, but there are some here (not naming names) that seem like they want us to struggle and lose so they can complain; especially those that "throw down" early in the season that we'll struggle. It's like they make that prediction and then they want it to come true because they "called it". I just don't get that. Like if that is how you are, why do you bother following sports?

We aren’t going to go 27-4 or whatever we did last year and be ranked #1 for a month, that was never likely. Most realized preseason this was a probable bridge year and simply making the tourney would be considered a nice season, anything better than a bubble team and most would be ecstatic...I remember a few people even saying how this team likely wouldn’t go dancing and criticizing Barnes job at building the roster. Fact is we are 5-0, ranked Top 20 and early predictions now have us as a 4/5 seed, obviously it is super early but how quickly people forget. It’s as if this team goes 22-9 and gets a 7 seed you are gonna have people complaining about the season, ridiculous.

Honestly, he's taken to the full time 1 better than I thought he would this early. I think he's playing out of position but right now thats where he's needed.

Its not a ground breaking statement but this is a very different team. You don't have GW who could get his own look from 15 and in. Bowden is getting you some of what AS gave you from a shot making standpoint.

Turner has distributed well but they still need points from him until those start coming from somewhere else consistently. Until then, there's a lot of weight on his shoulders.

As the season goes on JJJ will need to step up the scoring a little more and he's capable. The one hole I don't see being filled with this roster is Grant.

Let the Coach---Coach. There is a lot of overreacting going on....

IMO, Coach Barnes was experimenting and looking for combinations with a strong emphasis on Defense.

We are going to lose some games this year....but this team will grow and get better. We all want to see more players on the court and live games are the best situations for developing chemistry.

Hopefully, we will add to players after January and the mix will be good. Coach is doing what's best by letting this team struggle a little bit but the DEFENSE put in a strong effort....

I am going to drop this quote ---- "Williams' philosophy, he said, has always been about making the right play. He wants to do whatever he can to help the "team culture" and "create a winning environment." He wants to foster the kind of energy on the court that you can only feel when all five players are engaged, enjoying themselves and playing as if their hair is on fire.

Again, it is not a question of should LT touch the ball, and/ or distribute the ball and/ or shoot the ball - it's an observation. We play much better in my opinion when he is getting lots of touches - but isn't slowing down and dribbling at the top of the key excessively. When the ball and other players are engaged and moving - it is my opinion that we play better. Maybe it is a subtle difference and perhaps beyond most peoples ability to grasp - and granted in the heat of the moment a challenge for someone that isn't a true pg. There has to be a balance, but part of a really good point guard's and team's dna is ball movement and player movement: it will not hurt us to have only one or two people playing like their hair is on fire against ETSU - it will against better competition.

Just a casual observation :) - but I am not wringing my hands - just pointing out a flaw in our attack the last couple of games. It happened last year when we lost a couple of games and the ball wasn't being touched much by Grant or Admiral. It is a bit of a fine line - but when JJJ doesn't get one assist and the two inside players are taking 9 total shots against ETSU ........... the ball and players are not moving much and ...... there is a correlation with someone dribbling and dribbling. :)

Don't shoot the messenger ..... it is my observation and I am sticking to it.

Chattanooga, ETSU, Tennesseee Tech, Tennessee State, Austin Peay, St. Francis school for the blind .... none of those should play us that close at home.
Which is worse: getting beaten by Chatahoochie or austin Peay or beating them by 12 at home?
