"Here's what changed. UT recieved strong word from NCAA that Pear is getting AT LEAST a 1 yr susp. #vols
about 2 hours ago via TonyBasilio.com"

I know a lot of guys on here including me don't believe half the crap Basilio says and rightfully so but I thought this tweet was very interesting. If true, I can see why Hamilton went into panic mode yesterday and probably said something he shouldn't have..

Calhoun gets two games and Pearl gets one year plus eight games? And the fairness is where?

Good thing what he said isn't true. People need to shut up until something is CONFIRMED

Fortunately for you, it just doesn't matter. uT Hoops is just a fond memory now. Detachment is allsome.

Why not? He's been saying essentially the same thing all along.

Not talking about just this situation.. Maybe the Breaking News on two coaches that we "hired" post Kiffin D-Day. He "confirmed" that we had signed Muschamp and Lovie Smith in about 24 hours.. But anyway.. Don't hate on me. Just being the messenger because it was interesting news, IF true

I really hope everyone expected that Pearl was going to get at least a one year suspension. If not, then you're lost.

I agree. I thought from the start that the NCAA would make him "unresignable" if you get what I just said. I just thought that this was the first of a somewhat confirmation of that..

Not saying for a second that the punishment is not just, but the other similar circumstances around the league better have a similar punishment!

That certainly wasn't his finest hour but by and large I think his scoops are as informative as anyone else's on local radio. He wasn't the only one who missed on Muschamp.

Curious why anyone would think it would be less than a year? He lied to the NCAA. He had 90+ excess recruiting contacts. He tried to cover up the weenie roast with Craft and dad. He had the bump with Tony Jones after he admitted it all. It's a pattern. The NCAA deals harshly with lying and proven patterns of deception (19 out of 20 with show cause rulings). Two of Calhoun's assistants know that all too well. Should they have taken down Calhoun? Depends on the evidence they found. Another one is Tressell. Evidence is strong for a year plus suspension as well. He lied and covered up violations and they have evidence. We will see...

You really think Tressel will lose his job? You crazy.....

Tressel voluntarily (LOL) asked the university to suspend him for 3 more games so the 5 suspended players and him can get through this together. How sweet. Another attempt at trying to avert the NCAA's wrath. In his case, unfortunately, they'll succeed, yet, Pearl gets the shaft in more ways than one. This sure stinks. Let's see the NCAA suspend Tressel for a year. No way!
