Against my better judgement, I'm streaming some Knoxville sports radio this morning. Some dude is on Basilio's show, blowing smoke up his skirt about how he plays a big role in shaping public opinion. Blah, blah, blah.

Anyway, this caller mentioned that Basilio ran Mike Keith out of town. Just for historical reference, what was the story there?

Mike K ended up with a better paying gig. I’m glad he is gone as he is full of himself, all 5’3” of him

I believe this goes back to 1994 when UT added black to the away unis. He couldn't handle it anymore. J/K

I just remember him leaving for the Oilers but I don't recall the specific reason...unless they promised the play by play job to him.

keith leaving had nothing to do with basillio and everything to do with getting passed over as the voice of the vols, as usual the fans got shafted instead of mike who is a great radio guy we get that fat idiot kesling

Yeah, just wasn't sure if there was some other story behind what these boobs were talking about. Always interesting to listen to Knoxville spors radio.

Nope. I'm not a fan. And I'm not a fan of BeSilly-o either. He is a tool. Terry Fair On WNOX's The Drive is about the only one I listen to these days among the Knoxville Sports Talk shows.

Keith should be Voice of the Vols! True student of John Ward and you can tell. Keith is second best in state, behind John Ward himself.

Mike Keith's voice is annoying. I live in Nashville and hear him on several radio commercials and it is annoying.
Thank Goodness, I am not a Titan's fan or I would have to hear that every game.

The caller was Small Mike and he was trying to bait Tony into beginning the Coaching search on the radio. Tony has said he is wanting to enjoy each game this year and not get into coaching details until after the season plays out. Small Mike did say Tony ran Mike Keith out of town but Tony just laughed and dismissed it.

OT: Stan Cotten should have gotten the UT Announcer gig after Ward left. Former lead sportscaster at Channel 8 and a UT alum. Currently the PBP guy for Wake Forest. Would still like to see him return.
