Basilio saying some "embarassing" stuff went down in Atlanta . . .

Witch Doctor AGAIN say Basilo an idiot. Witch Doctor ask why no one notices he copy and paste his comments from posters on Gator sites? Witch Doctor say he a nothing with a website..REMEMBER he as predicting 8-10 Tennessee players would be suspended for the Chicken bowl? NCAA was going to HANG Kiffin? Fulmer would have to be recalled as head-coach by end of season.......Witch Doctor ask....why are we talking about this nothing?
Basilo= irrelevant.
Bones never lie.

Love the Witch!! Once again, CORRECT friend Witchy!!! Basilio = gator in desguise.........HOHOHO!!!! :eek:lol:

Basilio is a total loser....... funny how he calls himself a UT fan, and keeps saying "we"....... Why doesn't he mention the arrest records at Florida?? The Tennessee Football program, outside of one incredibly dumb incident, is in the best disciplinary shape it's been in for a long time......

The real problem is the lack of disclipline with the Basketball program, which has been like that for the past 4 years or so....... Not recruiting good character guys has not been kind to Coach Pearl......

Fulmer is gone......Basilio is a loser........ If "we" could get rid of him, too, we'll all be better off........

You don't have a clue. Basilio is the only media person in Knoxville worth a crap.

I am embarrassed and p'od at alot of things, from the CLKs "false accusations" and then followed up by multiple "minor" infractions, the attempted armed robbery, to the embarrassing showing on the field, now the b-ball program, I mean what the heck is going on? Say what you want in defense of both Head Coachs and the programs, but I for one am embarrassed. I have been pleased at the resurgance of the B-ball program, and sure, I want to see Tennessee Football back where it belongs, but not sure I wanted to trade in our integrity and image for wins. I personally have defended both CBP and CLK, but tell me this, how can you "demand" discipline when you constantly are breaking the rules? How can you demand respect when you are constantly spouting off at the mouth and dissing other Coaches and other programs, laughing in the face of the 2 governing bodies that we answer to and daring them to do something about it? Now, I know you take 18-21 year olds and there is occasionally gonna be problems and you cant be watching over them constantly. For that reason I give both Coaches some leverage here, especially CLK in his first season, but CBP has been here a while, and these were not freshmen, they were guys that have been under his leadership for a while...there is no excuse. If you are a Tennessee Alum, or fan, you should be embarrassed and demand better for our University and State. Sure, we tend to overlook some things when we are successful on the field or court, but we shouldnt. I have read many threads on here over the past year in support of CLKs arrogance and brashness, and Im ok with that, to a point. To the point that it becomes embarrassing. We can laugh at the "jabs" at other Coaches from CLK, and understand when CBP sizes up attractive female reporters on National TV but some of you have went as far as defending the players packing heat, smoking weed and running around at 3 in the morning like its "just college kids being college kids". I say there should be a zero tolerance when it comes to drugs and/or guns, especially if it involves both. No questions, you are outta here. If you are with someone that tries to rob someone and gets caught with guns and drugs, see ya, you should learn to keep better company. None of us are ignorant enough to believe Jackson had no idea what was going on that night. White, black, Hispanic, old or young, you should have enough self pride and discipline, enough love for your team to make sure you stay away from those things, and if you dont, you need to go somewhere else, period. We can still win without you, we have in the past. These guys will be here 3-4 years, if they make it, but the image that they leave will live on long after they are gone. Look at "the U". This is what we are becoming and some of you seem ok with that as long as we can win some games. Im not. I love Tennessee Football, I have given alot of time and money to it over the past twenty years. But I am disappointed and want better. Should CLK change his personality because I dont necessarily agree with it? Nope, and I dont expect him to, I do expect that he demand respect and discipline from his players. I do expect that he protect the University and our athletic department and the image that Peyton, Al and the thousands of other Volunteers built during their time here. When CLK is gone, this University will mean nothing to him, we will probably be at the other end of his jabs. I am a Volunteer, will always be a Volunteer.

Kidding? There are alot of bad journalists in K=ville, I'll agree with you there, but Basilio is not even a journalist at all, IMO.......

Thats like being the fastest runner at the special olympics. Knoxville has, by FAR, the worst sports coverage of any major university. The quality of radio and sportscasters up here that cover the Buckeyes puts everyone that covers UT to shame.......that is sad. Basilio is not a "media person" either, he is a blogger. Nothing more or less. HE writes his opinion. He lost ALL credibility (the little he had) with me when he stated several players would be academically ineligible for the bowl (not true), that we were looking at serious sanctions for the hostess thing (not true), and the kicker was him insinuating thatUT would even consider the idea of bringing Fulmer back. That is at best laughable.

He doesn't claim to be a journalist. He says that all the time on his show. He does this as a part time gig. He owns two other businesses from what I've heard. He is a fan, first and foremost. I promise you that. He was calling for Fulmer's head for months if not years before it actually happened. He was the only one with the stones to say what he thought. That's why I like him. I don't agree with him on everything, but he usually has solid sources and tells it like it is.

Basilio is a joke. His show has no credibility. This is the same guy that reported that Kelley Washington stole a car and dropped rumors that he was faking the injury he got during the 02 Georgia game to save himself for the draft.

I haven't been in town for a few weeks so I didn't hear a lot of what you're referring to, but I've listened to him for a long time, and I have always respected him for his willingness to say what he really thinks. And, he totally threw Hyams under the bus a few months back, and I love that.

The only thing embarrassing is the fact that this program was left in shambles and Kiffin won 7 games with essentially the same talent that Fulmer had here. Also, it's embarrassing that Dave Clawson coached the NCAA All-Time leader in receptions at Bowling Green and yet our passing game was anemic last year. The last thing that's embarrassing is that most of our fans are living in 1998 still and don't understand that our team isn't that good and has no depth because the man they worshiped let things go to the point he had two losing seasons in 4 years. BTW, the SEC was down this year for those not paying attention.

Brighter times are ahead, but some people don't understand that Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither will this team. If we don't see major improvements by at least 2011, then maybe some of the idiots on here will have a pot to piss in. Until then, shut up and let the people who have done this all their lives do their jobs.

I don't care for Basilio. But I do visit his site to read the updates from X. He REALLY needs to update the look of that thing. It makes me feel like I've traveled back to the 80s or something. The graphics are laughably bad.

I'm not the best in the world at making websites, but I 110% agree with that.

Tell ya what, buddy, I don't usually go out of my way around here to praise other posts because I am the prideful sort that tends to think my own writing stands apart, lol, but here's a case where I will say..GREAT JOB! I think/hope there is a growing contingent, the objective sort imo, who are kind of waking up from the CLK honeymoon hangover and realizing he really isn't looking like the cool, strong man of a punk we were hoping he was..he's just looking like a punk!

I like LK and love his dad, but you have some good, honest observations that are in the minority and difficult to make on this board. I respect you for that.

The thing I fear to be honest is what happens when his dad leaves. IMO he's irreplacable.

I just think it's funny when Basilio says he thinks they need to drop the NCAA. I mean, isn't that the National Collegiate Athletics Association? I mean, isn't that like taking the officials out of the game to get rid of all the penalties?

No, it's not.

Basilio is the same guy that was panicking about hostessgate because of some info from some sources, so he just needs to chill. But I am sick of all the negative headlines im seeing. I hope Smith is kicked from the bball team. These kids are blessed, BLESSED to be in the position they are in and to get a FREE education, and they cont... to throw it away, if they are 2 stupid to realize it, get them OUT! !!!!

Basilio is trying to make something out of, really, the obvious. Did we prepare for that game? Hell no! We got abused up and down the field, just like the Ole Miss game and the Auburn game. This is what concerns me about our new regime. At USC, they have all-world talent in a middle-of-the-road conference. And they still can't pull off an undefeated season. It is the model TN is following and i am not sure it works in the SEC. It bothers me that we didn't have any receivers open, we couldn't stop their run and we couldn't run the ball. That spells blow-out in the SEC. And, we should have talent on par with VT. Shouldn't we?
I'm not saying i'm not on the Lane Train, i am. I think he brings what we sorely needed to this program. Am i talking about of both sides of my mouth? Probably. Am I starting to sound like Tony Basilio on his blog? Yeah, somewhat. Am i skipping around the subject at hand? PRobably.

Anyway, I think we all need to just chill and having Basilio around is good because he does have some insight to the program as well as some inside sources that seem to be dead-on before anybody else gets the info.

Remember, with basilio gone, all we have is Jimmy Hyams.

Scared? I thought so.

No receivers open?? Did you not see the wide open pass for a TD that Moore dropped. That was the game changer when everyone apparently gave up. Up until then we were playing hard and close. That would have made it a 3 point game. After that drop, we fell apart.
