Basilio saying some "embarassing" stuff went down in Atlanta . . .

Anyone have any information on what Basilio is referencing? Sounds as if he has some insider info on preparation or lack thereof in Atlanta.

The Edge on TonyBasilio.com

Basilio is a total loser....... funny how he calls himself a UT fan, and keeps saying "we"....... Why doesn't he mention the arrest records at Florida?? The Tennessee Football program, outside of one incredibly dumb incident, is in the best disciplinary shape it's been in for a long time......

The real problem is the lack of disclipline with the Basketball program, which has been like that for the past 4 years or so....... Not recruiting good character guys has not been kind to Coach Pearl......

Fulmer is gone......Basilio is a loser........ If "we" could get rid of him, too, we'll all be better off........

Finally someone has the guts in the Knoxville Media to not slurp Saint Bruce.

I am interested to hear what the embarrassment was from Atlanta, though.

Basilio is a drama queen who is quick to jump on rumours that sometimes don't pan out like the rumour that a bunch of our players wouldn't make it academically. I read him for the 'X' updates and take everything else with a big grain of salt.

Willing to bet he is referencing things outside of the football game. At least no one was arrested in Atlanta.

The 'X' tidbits are definitely the highlights of his site.

Basilio is trying to make something out of, really, the obvious. Did we prepare for that game? Hell no! We got abused up and down the field, just like the Ole Miss game and the Auburn game. This is what concerns me about our new regime. At USC, they have all-world talent in a middle-of-the-road conference. And they still can't pull off an undefeated season. It is the model TN is following and i am not sure it works in the SEC. It bothers me that we didn't have any receivers open, we couldn't stop their run and we couldn't run the ball. That spells blow-out in the SEC. And, we should have talent on par with VT. Shouldn't we?
I'm not saying i'm not on the Lane Train, i am. I think he brings what we sorely needed to this program. Am i talking about of both sides of my mouth? Probably. Am I starting to sound like Tony Basilio on his blog? Yeah, somewhat. Am i skipping around the subject at hand? PRobably.

Anyway, I think we all need to just chill and having Basilio around is good because he does have some insight to the program as well as some inside sources that seem to be dead-on before anybody else gets the info.

Remember, with basilio gone, all we have is Jimmy Hyams.

Scared? I thought so.

I am embarrassed and p'od at alot of things, from the CLKs "false accusations" and then followed up by multiple "minor" infractions, the attempted armed robbery, to the embarrassing showing on the field, now the b-ball program, I mean what the heck is going on? Say what you want in defense of both Head Coachs and the programs, but I for one am embarrassed. I have been pleased at the resurgance of the B-ball program, and sure, I want to see Tennessee Football back where it belongs, but not sure I wanted to trade in our integrity and image for wins. I personally have defended both CBP and CLK, but tell me this, how can you "demand" discipline when you constantly are breaking the rules? How can you demand respect when you are constantly spouting off at the mouth and dissing other Coaches and other programs, laughing in the face of the 2 governing bodies that we answer to and daring them to do something about it? Now, I know you take 18-21 year olds and there is occasionally gonna be problems and you cant be watching over them constantly. For that reason I give both Coaches some leverage here, especially CLK in his first season, but CBP has been here a while, and these were not freshmen, they were guys that have been under his leadership for a while...there is no excuse. If you are a Tennessee Alum, or fan, you should be embarrassed and demand better for our University and State. Sure, we tend to overlook some things when we are successful on the field or court, but we shouldnt. I have read many threads on here over the past year in support of CLKs arrogance and brashness, and Im ok with that, to a point. To the point that it becomes embarrassing. We can laugh at the "jabs" at other Coaches from CLK, and understand when CBP sizes up attractive female reporters on National TV but some of you have went as far as defending the players packing heat, smoking weed and running around at 3 in the morning like its "just college kids being college kids". I say there should be a zero tolerance when it comes to drugs and/or guns, especially if it involves both. No questions, you are outta here. If you are with someone that tries to rob someone and gets caught with guns and drugs, see ya, you should learn to keep better company. None of us are ignorant enough to believe Jackson had no idea what was going on that night. White, black, Hispanic, old or young, you should have enough self pride and discipline, enough love for your team to make sure you stay away from those things, and if you dont, you need to go somewhere else, period. We can still win without you, we have in the past. These guys will be here 3-4 years, if they make it, but the image that they leave will live on long after they are gone. Look at "the U". This is what we are becoming and some of you seem ok with that as long as we can win some games. Im not. I love Tennessee Football, I have given alot of time and money to it over the past twenty years. But I am disappointed and want better. Should CLK change his personality because I dont necessarily agree with it? Nope, and I dont expect him to, I do expect that he demand respect and discipline from his players. I do expect that he protect the University and our athletic department and the image that Peyton, Al and the thousands of other Volunteers built during their time here. When CLK is gone, this University will mean nothing to him, we will probably be at the other end of his jabs. I am a Volunteer, will always be a Volunteer.

He gets paid to have people read what he writes. (drama) is the key word. Good Post. VDL:rock:

Basilio's a good guy and I enjoy listening via internet. I don't buy that he's not a UT fan. He loves UT. He just calls em like he sees em. Still, though, the 'X' stuff is the best thing on his website. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't visit his site as regularly.

" The arrests aside, JP Prince was a complete embarrassment the other day. His antics at tip-off and during that game had me wishing that he was in that car on Friday at Noon. "

That quote is way over the line. I don't follow the columnists enough to know who prints sense and who simply spouts sensational garbage, but I can't fathom any reason anyone worthy of respect in the media would write that.

I haven't listened to his show, but I do read his blog daily. Generally good stuff, but he does like to throw out slanderous accusations without a source or even giving any details of what he's actually referring to. When the whole hostess thing blew up he went into this whole thing about how if half of the recruiting violations that he's hearing from 'inside' the program is true then UT was in BIG trouble when the NCAA starts sniffing around. What were these violations? He didn't say. He did something similar in referring to all the problems in Atlanta. What problems exactly? Well, he didn't say. I can understand protecting your source but making vague accusations is a little weird. Maybe he's trying to keep UT out of trouble??

My guess is he has a couple of 'inside' sources that are Fulmerites or at least Kiffin haters.

I'm just reading a few things that he writes......he's a jerk-off, pretty much.......sensationalist trash....makes Adams looks like a genius by comparison........if you like to read over-hyped insults directed at our teams, then go ahead.......I just think he's complete garbage...... :eek:lol:
