Basilio reporting now 6:15

Wrong side says who?? You have no idea what is or isn't happening - all there is is rumors spread by folks on twitter who live to cause an uproar among Vol fans.

Not only that but Jones two and three star recruits will pull their commitments.

Funny how Peyton has always said he would not take a head coach job UT because he didn't want the fan base to turn against him. Looks like he just might do it anyway!

Won’t last. Insanity is fun but eventually the high wears off. :loco:

Why? Because he is not thrilled with YOUR choice and you are not thrilled with his choice to try to do what is right for the university?

I would not be surprised if some of the good VFL's that donate the time and money for this program walk away from it. It is becoming very difficult to protect the program from the craziness of the fans.

No we atent thrilled with his choice to do whats right for the Haslams. And a lot of "good VFLs" reportedly arent happy either.

Great stories are great stories because they have twists and turns and surprises.

Let this story play out boys.

We've got a great base for a 30 for 30 here.

All we need is the great ending and always remember this...

If Penn State can come back from what they did no program is dead.

Maybe this is what we needed to get our expectations in check and to show us we're a 6 that THINKS they're a 10.

Most of the VFLs I know ain’t happy at all.

I tell ya, reading these boards over the last couple of days has reminded me why I created an account years ago but come here so rarely that I never can remember my password...

It's adorable that you all think the "fan revolt" of Sunday was what resulted in the non-hire of Schiano. Clearly top boosters and others with power within the state and the university weren't on board with the hire, and that's why it didn't happen.

But sure, go ahead and throw another highly-reported temper tantrum. I'm sure it'll be super-effective, and I'm definitely looking forward to having more of my Georgia friends laugh in my face.

I'm loving these Peyton apologists. He's got his head so far up Haslams ass he can taste what he had for lunch. He wants to be the Browns GM for whatever reason.

1. Currie attempts to hire Doeren
2. Fans protest and run off Doeren
3. Currie can’t sign anyone and gets fired
4. Immediately hire interim AD to hire Kiffin
5. Profit

More likely what will happen:

4. National media laughs at UT again.
5. Coaches approached are filmed dying of laughter when approached. There is no coach going to touch this program if the AD department lets the fan base stop dictate when some one is hired and fired TWICE.
6. UT hires Hoke as interim or re-contracts with Jones, assuming they don't laugh as well.
7. Search for AD fails as all AD candidates says no.
8. UT enlists the help of an independent firm to determine the steps and given input on how to gain control over the out of control fans so that it can hire both an AD and a HC.

This whole "fire" thing has become a joke.

This is what opening pandora's box does. I agree GS was not a good hire and folks needed to reasonably make their concerns known - but some are too caught up on the power they think they have.

I feel I am watching a storied football program being KILLED by it s fans.

Exactly. We are taking these sources as gospel. Haven't we learned anything about these insiders and their sources. They are wrong 100% of the time.

It was the true fans that brought the potential hire of Schiano to the state reps and people in state government. These people don't sit around watching UT coaching hires. It was the fans tweeting to their state reps begging them to try and intervene and stop this crap. The fans of UT Football deserve so much better.
