Tony and radio co-host this morning saying Shoop should be fired now.
They say we are a defensive laughing stock nationally and have been since last years Kentucky game.
Are saying that Penn States defense has not missed Shoop.

Are they wrong? Seriously I am asking that because I want to hear what Volnation thinks on that? Also is there a timetable if no? TIA

Why is that? Shoop didn't get to bring any of his people with him.

Wasn't very impressed with Brady Hoke's coaching of the DL Monday night either. Basically left 3 guys out there at DT and DE all night. I'd bet Kmac, Vickers and Kongbo each played over 80 snaps. If Vickers didn't, it was only cause he got hurt (Big surprise!)

I wouldn't be surprised if Shoop was fired before the season ends if his "coaching" doesn't improve. Terrible game plan and strategy IMO.

I agree with him.

I think we have enough body of work to figure out he ain't cutting it. In the last five games, opposing team averaged almost 600 yards/game. Not Bama, UGA, Oregon, Clemson...rather...Mizzou, Vandy, etc. Unacceptable.

Sure we sometimes make a fuss over little things on here and all that.

However, there is simply no argument that can be made that suggest that shoop has been even remotely close to mediocre since his arrival.

What does Derek Mason make at Vandy?

Didn't here Kongbo mentioned at all during the game. Kmac either for that matter. Both of these players need to step it up or be replaced by somebody. If they played 80 snaps they should have been making some plays.

He beat the hell out of UT as a head coach. You think he would want to be UT Def. Coord?

hard to make an argument when we have no depth at DT, two of our LBs didn't play and last season half of our D was on the sidelines hurt. we will need to see what he does with traditional offenses before we can make any assumptions.

Will reserve judgement after UF game but there needs to be monumental steps in the right direction for Shoop's defense.

No, but id try. Money talks. If he comes here and turns this defense around could you imagine the coaching opportunities that would open?

So we are clear, im certain that wont happen.

Give me a break. If it was that big of a deal, why would Shoop leave Penn St.?

Position coaches change all the time.

Obviously the pay raise. Can't blame him for that as Penn State wasn't willing to match. At the same time, I won't feel sorry for him if he gets the ax as getting paid 6 figures for coaching a sport is a gift in itself.

However in his first year, he had to teach coaches and players, along with dealing with injuries. Its not like he has completely crapped the bed. Also, Butch saw enough him to want to pay him lots of money to come here.

No way you entertain a move like this until after the season and preferably after signing day.

is he still on the air? who listens to that clown? can't stand him, his schtick, his delivery...really, what value does he bring to the table from an entertainment standpoint?

he's loud, and full of himself..that's it.

I still in wait and see mode, but if anyone seat is hot in Knoxville right now its Shoop, I can see Butch letting him go during the bye week and turning the job over to Hoke

And how many yards will be given up before then?

In all honesty, im not a big fan of thise knee jerk moves and would like to wait to the normal time and all. But, we may be looking at a scenerio where if CBJ waits to make that move, it may cost him his job as well. The defense is simply bad, there is no argument that it is even average much less SEC level. Its just bad.

Im no CBJ fan but at some point self preservation has to kick in.
