Bashing needs to stop

I can do better but here's my first picture:

What do you think?

I'll try to do better on my next one while I'm still waiting.

Been thinking. Well, maybe trying to think is a better choice of words. Since you've insinuated that I lack knowledge (dimwit- numerous times) & say that I have no ability to comprehend single-celled organisms much less complicated concepts like big picture football schemes, let's see what's what shall we? You up to it? Here's your chance to prove your superior comprehension skills over a knuckle-dragger like me. You ready?

Category: The defensive scheme in the Auburn game

Question(s):

What type of offense does Auburn run? What are their tendencies? What type of defense did Jancek employ to stop this? Why was(n't) this a sound scheme to employ?

We know it wasn't very effective. That much is obvious. Even someone with my paltry comprehension skills could see that. I'm sure you'll argue that it was all a result of our players being terrible because you say that's supporting this team. Scheme had nothing to do with it which, again, is showing support for the coac...err team. Ok. My comprehension skills can't allow me to see how that's supporting the team, but you get it. I don't apparently. How was the scheme employed, whatever it was (I can't tell you because me dimwit- you smart), not responsible? I expect a detailed explanation (if you can give one) defending the schematic choice of Jancek. I need in depth stuff to help me understand after all. Should be a snap for you. You can probably do it with 200,000 axions tied behind your head, but please help me. You don't believe in spurning the requests of those less mentally fortunate than you, do you? I'll try to give a semi-cogent response to your explanation. Can't guarantee that I can do that being so limited mentally and all. I promise that if I can't accomplish that, I'll be brave in the pursuit.

Here's your chance to bury me and prove your superior ability to understand all things football. Can you do it? Time to back up your words, if you can. I'll be patiently waiting. I think I'll go color in my new coloring book to pass the time. I got a new box of Crayolas for Thanksgiving. It's even one of the 64 color boxes. I'm giddy.

I did not have as much of a problem with scheme this year as I did technique and discipline. When you play a zone read offense your defense has to be disciplined and maintain gap control and that is something we did not do very well.

To answer your question you should be running a man to man defense against the zone read and crowding the line of scrimmage and if I am not mistaken Jancek has tried to run man to man most of the year. I will leave it to Allvol to break down why teams should run a man to man.

This thread has lost gap control.

For the lack of talent excuses;

How many players on this years team had legitimate offers from other SEC schools?

I agree with your comments on gap control & discipline. I would also add reading your keys (eye discipline in Jones' words). While your post is very relevant, I'm going for an actual scheme, not basic technique used as the gold standard in all defenses.

Man isn't a must, but common. I'm looking for more than just coverage. I too will wait for allvol before attempting not to trip over my 3 functioning brain cells.

You ve spread it on pretty thick in this thread.

I guess we ll see what does or doesn't come from it.

Good luck with both I guess.

A man can be called stupid for just so long before he proves otherwise. Twas inevitable, imho.

Yes I agree I am just not sure how much of the blame is on coaching and how much is in player ability.

I find it unfair to blame it all on coaching and I find it equally unfair to blame it on the player ability. As I said earlier there are some key positions that need to be filled next year and we will know early on if this staff can develop players to compete in the SEC.

I don't totally disagree. It will all make sense when/if allvol enlightens me. I promise.

While true players also have to develop under good coaching and one year of good coaching can't undo three years of god awful coaching.

Blame?
Maybe the players are giving 100% of their heart and soul to the university of Tennessee. Maybe the coaches got the best out of those players. Maybe the best they have isn't good enough to win in the SEC. If I was one of those players and heard you question weather or not I was to "blame", I'd probably say **** you.

That is why I said player ability and that is what you are saying by saying their best is not good enough so what is the difference.

I'm like a Transformer. We both are more than meets the eye...But I'm not a robot in disguise, so there's that.

The wait enters the 2nd hour. The coloring shall continue.

The difference is I'm not assigning blame. Blame is for those who have done something wrong. Imo the players preformed close to the best. I have no opinion on the coaches yet. They did some things well, others not so much.

And maybe you misunderstood I was not either and I did not mean to come across that way. I was trying to say that maybe the players physical ability prevented the from executing the coaches scheme or maybe the scheme was just bad and the players did not have a chance. I will delete that post as I do not want it to sound like I am blaming coaches or players this season.
