What is going on with Bashaara this year?

She seems to have completely fallen off the rails.

LSU game - 4 REB, 3 TO, 0 PTS

Any ideas?

I'm not sure what is going on with her, some games she looks really great and others you don't hear much out of her,I was wondering in last nights game why i didn't see much from her and got to wondering why

the team didn't seem to be looking to get the ball into the post as much to me,unless Izzy is in and yes she seems to all ways be in foul trouble this year

either the coaches or the point guard need to get her the ball more,I honestly don't know what is going on,it isn't like she is a bad player,we all know how good she can be and the team needs to get there heads out of there asses on several things

that is what is so frustrating watching them play,we know they are better than the way they look at times, blame it on the coaches or the players,I have no idea,at a guess I would have to say 50/50 right now, some way or the other the communication between coaches and players isn't working

too short to play post in the SEC, imho

Agree.

They have her on the low block and the center posts high. Physically she is beat up and not getting the elevation and her quickness is suffering.

In the off season she needs to work on her offense away from the basket to be more effective. She needs to develop a dependable 10-15 foot jumper and not think every shot has to be a lay up. It's kind of like Maymon's situation right now.

Holly could change her positioning, but with her injuries and lack of O away from the basket it would be pointless this season. Holly tries 3 guards/2 PFs at times with Graves involved, but it rarely works due to match up problems.

She needs to quit standing underneath the basket.. shes always too deep when she gets the ball.

SOPHMORITIS. She'll snap back next year. She looked great last year as a freshman and she played low post.

i just watched a replay of the 2nd half and it looked like they never went inside and tried to get her the ball

I don't know why but sophomore is usually the worst year for a player. I agree that she is getting to far under the basket and also posting to deep. She needs to get out in front more overall still a good year. 9.8 ppg 6.3 rpg only taken 190 shots has a 1.44 points per shot attempt which is superb. 1.5 turnovers per game is very acceptable. So she has played very sound basketball. With Simmons and Harrison taking a high percentage of the shots she has quietly had a good season. To compare Simmons is averaging 1.24 points per shot attempt and 2.8 turnovers per game so you can see Graves has been a very consistent player for us just hasn't been the main focus of the offense. Last night was just a bad game for her.

Last night was a good overall game for us. We had 22 turnovers but the Refs forced about ten of them with some very questionable calls.

She can make layups and put offensive rebounds in the basket, but that is it. Badly needs to learn some offensive moves.

I'd be interested in hearing your rationale for this statement. Many coaches say that if a player doesn't "get it" by Soph year, they'll never get it.

To me, Graves just doesn't look happy or inspired.

She got it by her freshman year.

she's damn good at throwing a ball into the bottom side of the rim, almost as good as N. ANOSIKE was. ;)
