I am not very knowledgeable on different offensive schemes, formations, sets, etc..

But just basing on our current roster, is our current scheme the best for us?

Is there another scheme that is better to increase our odds of winning?

Watch LSU

QB under centre pitches to Fournette and he picks a hole running down hill. This sets up play action. They switch it up and line up in shotgun as well. Seems effective.

Pro Style Offense with play action passes. No reason we shouldn't be running this. Kiffin did it here with the worst talented offense and QB Crompton. He new that was the only thing that would be effective with a QB that cannot throw deep and a bad O Line.

I've never seen a coaching staff that takes extremely talented athletes, and make them all worse. All the recruits that left are the smart ones.

Watching the Seahawks vs. Bears. Bears are lining up with 3 tight ends and 1 extra lineman, and just pounding the run. At least they have extra blockers.

How I long for the days when we had a real pro-styled offense.

OL has improved, but that may be a function of being a year older. Regardless, they are not where they should be. I'm afraid Mahoney takes that blame, warrented or not. While the OL has its impact on the passing game I have a hard time believing it is the sole contributor for the lack of yardage or catches by the receiving corps. I think it is a reflection of bigger issues for which Butch is directly responsible for. Yes the defense could have one more stop, but equally, the offense could get one more first down or 3 points. Better find/fix the passing game pretty quick or things just aren't going to change against meaningful opponents.

Not according to the repeated assertions of our head coach the past three seasons.

Statistics and records show a different story though.

A number of programs have been trotting out more effective and productive offenses during his tenure here and as a head coach overall.

The majority of these programs have even gone the route of employing offensive coordinators who have called games this decade.

Swain said this staff is calling plays to mask Dobbs weaknesses and there's some throws he can't make.

He brought that offense from usc that's all he has ever run If we ran a pro style we would need a qb that could throw the deep ball. I agree though I like pro style better than what we run now.

Florida's Qb has the reputation of a weak arm (prior to UT) and they designed roll out plays for him to shorten one side of the field so he can make the pass.
this is the job of the OC
