The main host is Dave Portnoy. I wouldn’t blame anyone for not knowing who he is, or even who barstool is — they’re still relatively new. They’re a college-centric sports media outlet that’s gotten hugely popular with the current generation. So needless to say it’s a pretty big thing for exposure, and it’s pretty cool to have them on campus for sure!!

The Barstools and McAfee types are the future of sports media. Yes-they’re light on analysis in comparison to dry Jimmy Hyams types. I’ve liked most of what I’ve seen from Portnoy and team. It does seem the money is changed him a bit, so hopefully he doesn’t do the same turn Howard Stern did in that he takes himself too seriously after getting major money and turns his back on the formula and fans that made him successful. Will be interested to see what happens at the show, especially seeing the clip of them getting beer thrown at them last time.

His pizza reviews are ok, but he’s only tolerable in small doses imo. He strikes me as an egotistical douche canoe.

This should be good exposure to a group of people who wouldn't normally pay attention to a Tennessee/Florida game.

Of course someone from Ohio would get on here and call Portnoy a douche canoe. He raised 41 million dollars for small business's that weren't allowed to open their doors for customers.

He’s still kinda a douche canoe who can’t take a joke from primetime 99 but that goes beyond the scope of this thread.

That sounds like a lot of these new era hosts and social influencers. Light on skill and substance, heavy on personality and opinion. Hot takes and gettin' paid.

McAfee has a ton of skill and substance, one of the hardest working people in sports media.
