Barry Odom is an Idiot

I'm sick of that program, hope they fall through the floor. They are Vandy 2.0 and we've had our worse stretch in decades. Wgwtda

One of a few programs that are overdue for a Tennessee @** kickin. We’ve spent a couple seasons at the bottom and teams that should be our punching bags are gettin cocky. We have some very satisfying wins ahead.

Missouri has little respect for Tennessee. Tennessee has basically sucked since they’ve been in the league. They’ve had more trouble with Ky and Vandy than they’ve had with Tennessee.

Read this garbage. Looks like Barry is butthurt that we are trying to be opportunistic and get some added depth at their expense. Don’t get use to beating us 51-17 there chief. Can’t wait to beat these dudes down on a regular basis like we should.
There should be a limit on the number of times a player can be contacted. Once, really should be sufficient. I'm sure the players are aware of the situation. If they had any intention of transferring they probably would have reached out to a prospective school. The optics aren't very good.

How would you folks feel if the situation was reversed? How did you feel when Orgeron and Kiffin were trying to get our recruits to Southern Cal? Goose/gander.
Honestly I didn’t blame. Never felt like Kiffin did something I wouldn’t do, aside from the rumors involving his personal life.

He sure is proud of that 51-17 score, as he should be. You know it is interesting... I doubt you’d see him have that kind of attitude toward someone like Vanderbilt, Ole Miss or Kentucky. I wonder why? Maybe subconsciously he’s worried about us becoming a threat?

Lol. Four SEC schools have reached out to missouri seniors. They're simply giving Missouri seniors a chance to play for a bowl in their final season. The optics are just fine unless you're a butt hurt missouri fan

Kiffen/Ogre were trying to get our recruits to transfer to USC while they were still on our dime. Totally different situations.

My issue would be with the number of times they're contacted, regardless of the school. Again, the players are fully aware of the situation and their options.

What Kitty and Ogre tried to do was circumvent rules that prevent another University coaching staff from contacting and luring away from the school they are signed and attending. After they had signed with USC, they weren't supposed to be directly contacting players they had signed here, but they did. Those players, due to the timing hadn't attended classes yet, and they were attempting to give them a way out of their scholarship they had signed by not completely being in the system. A very dirty and skirting the rules move. What Missouri is going thru is the same thing Ole Miss experienced, among others. The NCAA allows upper classmen who are in good academic standing with their University that has been put under a bowl ban that will encompass the remainder of their playing career to transfer so they aren't unduly punished by the University/coaches illicit activities from getting to play in a bowl. It's basically a transfer portal given to them to use, if they wish.

Makes me wonder why Odom chose to single out Tennessee.

Poaching has been going on since recruiting existed. It has been done via badmouthing other schools. It has been done by covert payments to players. It has been done by dangling pretty "pushy" at players. It has been done by underhanded, uh, ahem, amenities for families or family members or the player. It has been done by making "look at me" status vehicles for the same. And more we may or may not know about. And you can bet your trusty Chevy truck, mother-in-law, and fishing rod Missouri has done it too. So when the UT legally and overtly makes a phone call or visit and basically say, "How'd you like to be a Vol and be eligible for postseason play, be seen on TV and other stuff non-penalized schools get to do?" Well. howdy-do.

Not even close to the same thing.... Kiffin and Ogre.. were calling incoming freshmen who had just arrived on campus and telling them to not attend classes the next few days... these were players they had been paid to recruit to UT and bet they were calling them on UT cell phones while still on their last day on our payroll.... this is more like apples to banana boats...

Am I the only one who thinks its kind of sad that we are trying to poach players from Missouri?

You mean the same players who beat us 51-17? Yeah, we are TOTALLY too good for any of them to play here.

I think it's pretty clear that Pruitt is willing to scour the earth to find players that can help us. He doesn't care if they play for Delaware State TCC.
