If any you want to see what the wealth of America does with it's spare time and cash. Check out the Barrett-Jackson auctions on the SPEED channel. Being a Gearhead, I watch it annually but I am always amazed at the lengths some people will go to for a 40 year old car.

It'll be on most of time from now until late sunday so check it out and bring your tales of disbelief. For DirecTv subscribers it's on channel 607. Everyone else just use your remote and look for it.

i typically always watch some of this and then cry realizing they spend more money on one car than I'll own for quite some time.

Then I think about how much nicer those people would be if they would just pay off my student loans instead of buying a fancy old car.

Have watched for several years, as long as been on. The Hemi Mopars have surprised me the most along with other big block muscle cars. Not that long ago, you couldn't give them away. Check out Muscle car thread in "The End Zone".

Pretty amazing stuff - just shows there's a market for just about everything.

Also makes you think about keeping your current car for 20 years or so then selling it for a mint!

I Love LOVE LOVE to watch the Barrett-Jackson Auctions. I am a huge fanatic of classic cars and I love to see what people pay for them!

the cars that used to drive around Scottsdale when that was in town were just amazing. I had no idea what some of them were (or their worth) but still drooled

I know the guys that own and operate Johnson's Hot Rod Shop out of Gadsden AL. They have cars on Barrett every year. Last year was this Cuda. Also had some other popular cars. Hey when Hot Wheels makes cars of your cars it is pretty cool.

I remember that Cuda, sweet ride! The retro-rod muscle car is a big deal this year. Can't believe some of these prices, while properly restored mint originals seem to be negatively affected by them.

My Dream car a '69 Boss 429 just rolled off with a 325k price tag.

They are going to auction off a custom '69 camaro built by richard childress later on today. It features the engine Dale Sr. won the Daytona 500 with.

Will Ron Pratte PLEASE adopt me!!!!!!

I know I've seen him spend a million+ this year and he's the same guy that bought the Super Snake for $5 million last year.

Here's one of my favs that I've seen so far.

Barrett-Jackson - The World's Greatest Collector Car Events™

The General Lee is up next.

Yea, he is amazing! I even tried looking him up and all they say is that hes builds houses. They said hes real discrete and will not do any interviews or anything. That man has got some money!
