Barnhart lists Cut as candidate at GaTech

Clemson was to the ACC in the 80s what the Gators were to the SEC in the 90s. As someone who wants to see the team he favors compete at the highest level I cannot fault Clemson fans for wanting the same thing.

You think CRS will be back, don't you, Ras?
I don't think he wants to come back and there are frankly still people here that don't want him back also, so it would be a mutual separation. Personally, I think Sanders was a scapegoat, but that is neither here nor there. If any UT alumni has gotten a raw deal, it would be Sanders. Fulmer's defenders can complain about the pressure that comes with coaching all he wants, but some of these scumbag fans put Randy through some hard times.

Agree. I like Cut more than you do though, that's for sure. And, he did better in the SEC CG, right?

No he didn't do better. Just like he's done all year. We 1) abandoned the one thing that we had that was working and 2) decided to put the ball in Ainge's hands to pull out a clutch victory. We got lucky with Vandy, USC, and Kentucky (3 traditional SEC powerhouses :ermm:) and just ran out of magic dust against teams like FL/Bama/LSU (3 traditional SEC doormats).

Despite the admirable and valliant effort that Rogers and Taylor have made this season, really playing beyond all reasonable expectation, I think that in the final analysis the loss of the starting WR corp is what hamstrung the offense this season. We all talked about it before the season and looking back it seems to be one thing that couldn't be fixed. There was never a deep threat and defenses crowded the Vols all year. Hopefully Paige, Campbell and Maples will be another Meachem, Swain and Smith group for the Vols.

Agree with your assessment. Rogers, Briscoe, Taylor are just what Scout graded them as...3*.

I didn't think you'd give him that one, but I had to try.

What I liked: a lot more variety in playcalling, formations, etc.

After the pick six, I found myself wanting the old conversative guy back. Now, honestly, did you have that thought? Any other time on our own 10 yard line, we do 3 conservative plays (mostly runs and then maybe a draw on 3rd and long) and then punt. This is the one time that might have worked. Who knows?

Nope, I wanted the guy that plugged in Gerald Jones.

His heart condition is probably better than most of the people his age. Just because he had bypass surgery doesn't mean he isn't healthy. If he has taken good care of himself since, then he is MUCH healthier than he was before surgery. And I can't remember if he had a heart attack or not, but if he didn't, his health is probably better than MOST of the people on this board.

you might be right, i have no idea. But i still believe the schools won't treat it as if it is a very real potential problem.

I wonder if that's the guy Cut was questioning after the game. That is the guy everyone has been wanting for awhile. At least you noticed he was there. A lot of people missed him.

All the net chatter is pointing towards Rick Neuheisel at GaTech but I just can't see it. If Tommy Bowden goes to Arky it will close any chance of the UNC job opening. I don't know whether Cut would be a candidate at Clemson. It's starting to look like the window is closing for Coach Cut this year unless he's willing to go outside the South or try his hand at Duke.

The window on Cutcliffe being a head coach again closed when Archie and Olivia ran out of offspring.

Shhh... we don't need to be making comments that make it appear that Cutty is not a bad hire. We need to encourage Cutcliffe to pursue coaching opportunities where ever they come up (preferably, not in Knoxville).

I'll help him move

Bowden got a contract extension and is staying at Clemson.
