Barnhart and Schlabaugh; Talkin' Football

What is reality?

Reality is the perception of things that actually exist, rather than as they may appear

In our program, the following things exist.

Decreased Depth Chart
High amount of underclassmen starting
Injuries to our top two players on offense
Loss of our top player on defense
#1 Toughest schedule in Div 1 football

Take those things that exist, in reality, add them all together, and you get our current season.

To you, that makes Dooley appear that he cant coach.

Thats not reality

Thanks for playing. See the attendant on the way out

Players continually being out of position. The fact our LB's couldn't cover a simple crossing pattern if we tied a leash to the WR/TE. The fact our Oline couldn't block a pop warner dline and open a hole a piece of paper could slide through. Those are just some of the reasons I KNOW we're not a well coached team. I don't even wanna get into kick/punt coverage and how no one seems to have the discipline to stay in their lanes.
But turn a blind eye BFF.

Austin Johnson is the slowest white boy I have ever seen, other than myself.

The other two are freshman in a new scheme and totally different environment than High School

When you were in college, were you smarter as a Freshman or as a Senior?

In your first job, were you better than someone who had been there 4 years?

Barnhardt isn't exactly what I'd call objective on this front. Whatever the case, Dooley needs to pray hard that his team pulls an upset for him this week or his ass is on the chopping block next year.

Anyone watch it tonight? Barnhart and Schlabaugh picked TN to go 2-0 and win at Vanderbilt. Also, Barnhart added that no one except those inside the program at TN really knew how bad the situation was that Derek Dooley walked into. He said with Bray and Hunter the offense was a machine and the team was just too young to recover without them. He said we have got to give Dooley a few years to get some recruits in there to rebuild the team, and he will be successful at TN.

Color me impressed. I refused to open this thread several times because I thought it would just tinkle me off

I guess you're right. Players shouldn't show progress by the end of a season. Silly me.

You will see the progress this weekend when we are playing a mediocre team in our house. The season isn't over. How about a little optimism instead of all the negativity?

Reality is reality. And knowing what you're supposed to do during a game has nothing to do with the competition. How well one does against competition is different. These kids don't know and that's coaching.

No, your just so hell bent on seeing dooley faill at this point that you choose to turn a blind eye to improvement. There has been plenty of improvement on this team such as, Mo Couch, Brian Randolph, Deanthony Arnett, Byron Moore, Justin Coleman, Cam Clear, Izauea Lanier, and Allan Carson. These players have all shown great improvement in there individual play from the start of the year. Plus you have guys like Daniel Hood who switched from offensive line to defensive line, and has been developed into a servicable defensive tackle. Also, there is Justin Worley who if you compare his high school tape to what he is now, his mechanics have come quite a long way in a short amount of time. I will agree with you that as a team we have not shown much progress, but individual players have progressed throughout the season. Have fun continually spraying your stupidity.

Maybe don't get so worked up over one year? True story, my older brother's freshmen year he and many of his friends/classmates had to fill in on a really depleted roster. They were absolutely terrible, I didn't want to go to the games terrible. Every year they got better and better, and his senior year they went 13-1, the only reason they lost in the playoffs was because after driving the ball all the way down field into the other team's redzone with little time left our coach called a halfback pass with a halfback with a broken hand. I hope you caught on to what I'm getting at. Complain about coaching when a coach calls a halfback pass when the halfback has a broken hand, not when young players play like young players.

I didn't expect to win against LSU, bammer, Florida, UGA, USC or Arky.
But I did and DO expect them to look like a well coached team and they do not.
I don't think he is the right guy and he was a knee jerk hire.

You can run on ever down and tell QB not to snap the ball till clock gets close to zero, shorten the game and make the game look more respectible . Like Kiff did at UF but I would rather try to win and if we lose it's a L no matter if we lose by having 13 men on the field on the last play or we lose 49 to 7 actually the LSU win/loss hurt me more..... I'm not in to moral victories.

What does this post have to do with what I said? And I don't give a rats ass what Kiff or Fulmer or Majors or any coach but our current head coach does because the current head coach matters. You can lose a game as a well coached team. Your players should be in the right spots, be able to cover a kick/punt return or at least know how to cover simple crossing patterns. Our guys are continually out of position and only a blind person or someone who has zero knowledge of football would argue differently.
