He's going to get a lot of penalties, and a lot of sacks while he's here and that's pretty much fine with me as long as he doesn't Ndamukong Suh somebody.

This...I like a mean streak and playing hard...but the late hits are gonna cost the Vols sooner or later.....kinda did on the play he got hurt on.

How many late hits was Barnett called for this year? I only remember a couple but maybe I'm wrong. When he took the QB out he was just blocking. Nothing wrong with that. Even the late hit today wasn't vicious he was falling and had his arms out. Looked worse then it was.

His cup snapped and pinched his "er sack". Hurts like hell. Stitches usually

Love this guy as a player but he is a personal foul machine.

I've thought more than a handful times this year that he was skirting the line (which is how you want DL to play) but as touchy as some of the refs are nowadays, it will cost us sooner rather than later against an opponet in a big game. Love the way he plays balls out on every down though...

Playing all out and tough is one thing; penalties usually seem to happen at the wrong time; personal fouls will cost as he gains the rep and eyes on him.

read in another blog where CBJ says he has addressed the issue through the season; rip him a new one and threaten to put his arse down. All for the passion but discipline gotta be part of the tone/technique. I hope game review CBJ is all over that.

I guarantee he did not get disciplined or "chewed out" on the block of Beathard. That was legit, many great defensive coaching staffs on a change of possession teach go after the deepest guy to block, which most often is the QB. Everybody should have their head on a swivel at an interception. Clean hit clean block, kid did a great job. If you can't take Barnett and the Vols D violently hitting people in the years to come, support the swimming team, football doesn't need you, it's not a contact sport, it's a collision sport.

So you're saying there were 2 Personal Fouls.... one was VERY Personal.

I wonder how Butch would describe it.....

Middle Extremity Appendage mishap?

Any other thoughts?

dude, don't just hit the clicker for the bowl game; watch the entire season for the body of work. CBJ preaches and preaches about penalties. Flags aren't thrown for collisions; they are thrown for penalties and they hurt the entire team beyond bragging about your basket.

He said it was his shoulder… asked if he was alright he winked and said "I'm straight."

Go ahead and take that wherever you need to.
