Barnett to make decision after Bowl game

Barnett is a VFL and I would love to have him back. But he has little to gain and a ton to lose by coming back. Go get paid young man. You've earned it.

Make that money and set yourself and your family up for life, young man. Been a pleasure watching you plant opposing QBs into the dirt. VFL.

I hope he declares for the NFL because he has earned it. It would be fun to see him play again at UT, but I want him to leave on a high note with no injuries like he should and become a first rounder.

So is his decision which agent to use? Because he's gone, as well he should be. He has given his all for Tennessee.

If he thought his back hurt carrying the defense this year, imagine how heavy the burden would be next year!! Holy smokes we are going to be terrible.

DB is an all-time great at UT. I hope he balls out in the league.

It's his life, if he comes back that's great, if not that's fine too. He doesn't NEED to do anything he doesn't wanna do. Maybe an education is important to him and he wants a backup plan in case things don't work out in the NFL.

Takes me 10 years to make 400,000, but I get your point. My fault for being a teacher though. :)

I hear ya as my daughter is a teacher. However there are a whole lot of people running around in their late 20s and 30s with no degree that would LOVE to be making $40k a year. It's all about where you find your mocassins everyday. Sometimes everybody else's wigwam looks warmer than yours.

DB is a beast, legend, and VFL regardless. He will make millions whenever he goes to the NFL, and I'll be excited to watch him in the league! Who knows, though, it's his decision and I'm happy for him either way. You just never know what might go into the decision for him. I do think, though, that he'll look at what happened with Cam and JRM and that will have some effect.

All that said, I do think he ends up declaring.

Just imagine, though, IF he came back... imagine what the sack record, along with a few other records I'm sure, would look like at the end of his senior year. Would probably be untouchable

Two things: 1) I thought the decision had already been made but I agree that he should go as he's projected top half of first round by almost everyone. 2) This article said he "has a tendency to receive false start penalties" Really? Here I had always thought false starts were called on the offensive line. Shame on the writer and editor for not catching that.

There's no decision here to make. He had a front row seat to see how injury has affected Cam Sutton and JRM. Thanks for your tremendous play at Tennessee DB, but don't let this ship sail.

He gone. And I really feel sorry for our defense next year without him. I hope he has a great NFL career. Its been awesome watching him these past 3 years.

Finacially he should go and put the money in the bank. After tying the sack record he said it's not about stats but about wins. He has unfinished business for the Vols, maybe he can complete his work with Nebraska.

If he were to ask me what to do I would point him to JRM, AK, and Cam. I bet they could give him some good advice. Although they weren't guaranteed to be multimillionaires.

I wish him the very best. Good luck with a tough choice.

Beat Nebraska!
