Barnett Tired of Being Held

I saw that happen live, it was the same drive that Owen Williams and Barnett got into some altercation with the kitties and I thought for sure Barnett would get flagged. Barnett did that in retaliation for what happened earlier

It happend right after the hands to the face foul that was against the cats but there was another flag that gave the cats an automatic first down. Butch turned purple! I saw DB throw that dude and thought we would get another flag.

Did he throw him by the facemask? I love DB, but he can't do that. That is unacceptable

Barnett is a legit all-SEC defensive end. Those type of players have to be held. Just means he's ballin. Hope he leads us to a strong finish.

I've wondered two things with the officials this year....

1.) What exactly does it take to get an intentional grounding penalty called?

and

2.) When did the rules change in college football where it allows OT's to so blatantly hold DE's on just about every play?

The conspiracy theorist in me believes that on #2, it's an "unwritten" rule to try and better protect QB's from getting mauled but they're just not talking about it out loud.

No kidding! The one I really don't understand is when a defensive end gets fully past the tackle and the tackle has his arm fully across the chest of the DE. I've seen this done right in front of refs and no call. I'm pushing 50 but when I played that was always holding.

Barnett has some restraint too, I'm pretty sure Kentuckys RB threw a punch earlier in the game when Owen got the unsportsmanlike. It looked like it at least. Barnett was in his face and it looked like a punch to the head happened.

Refs have got to do a better job of calling holding. I counted 8 holding calls that they missed last night, and Im not being picky, they were BLATANT Calls.

You have to protect your stars. They do it all the time in the League, most refs also do it in college also. Seems like Barnett should get most calls, but he rarely gets 1 a game. Dude should have 8-10 sacks already.
