“(Taylor) is a beast,” Barnett said smiling. “I just tell him to keep on working. I try to tell him some of the tricks I work on with my pass rush like reducing (his surface) and bending well. DT sticks out.”

Barnett labeled Taylor the “most athletic player on the team,” and added he’s hungry to improve. “He wants to get better, he wants to learn,” Barnett said. “When you tell him something he tries to put it into play. He’s naturally gifted, God gifted.”

Another player that continues to catch the eye of Barnett is Jonathan Kongbo. “He’s gifted. He can play anywhere up front on the field,” Barnett said. “He’s taken a lot of strides and he’s been attacking each and every day at practice very well. He’s made a lot of strides.”

Reeves-Maybin ready, more notes

“I still don't know,” Reeves-Maybin said. “You can't simulate a game. I haven't hit anybody full speed yet. It's something that I have put my faith in. I trust our training room and strength staff. I have progressed well and haven't had any setbacks yet. When it's time to go full speed, I can't hold back.

Wish JRM would consider playing limited snaps in the 1st 3 games as we can win those without him. Really need him at his best for those first 4 SEC games. Same with Tuttle.

Pretty awesome that Barnett is raving about these two, considering it'll probably be Kongbo, Phillips and Barnett battling for the two starting DE spots next season. Taylor will probably add on another 15lbs or so next off season bringing him to about 255lbs...watch out. They have potential to be a better group of DEs than we have this year. Scary.

Let him knock the rust off against some weaker teams. JRM and Tuttle need to be playing at close to 100% against UF. Hard to do that if you haven't played a full 60 yet

Did something happen to Corey Vereen that I don't know about?

Edit: Nevermind! I just noticed that you said NEXT season.

Ha I meant Taylor** Kongbo and Phillips. If Barnett stays it'll be a miracle.

Why would he stay.. Draft stock will never be higher.. Take the money

Barnett I believe is a first round selection, there's nothing for him to prove after this season, were I to counsel him it would be for him to go. However you never know, the same could have been said about young Peyton Manning, he came back. Barnett was a private school kid in high school it's not like other kid's who leave to support their families. A lot of people were betting the farm we had seen the last of JRM and Sutton as well yet here they are on team 120 and we are better for it.

I vividly remember walking away from the O&W game with the same impression.

And I had barely even heard of the guy at that point
