Barnes on Finebaum shoe

He's the winningest coach in the SEC right now.

Calipari is not long for the conference anyway. The NBA beckons.

Respectfully disagree. I lived in Memphis 4 years while he was there, I moved to Lexington KY and he was there a year later so I was about 4 years with him there as I was there 5.

The horse farms with barns more expensive than Calipari's house and the coal money will keep him there as long as he is winning. The fan base can be insane and Calipari is a little greasy but I truly believe he has had his stint in the NBA and won't go back, unless things go real bad win-loss wise and they run him out of town up there or violations etc.

Just my opinion though. I think he would have possibly left for the NBA while in Memphis but not now

I believe cal once said he would retire if he went undefeated and won the national championship.

Beats the hell out of me Buttercup. I'm just responding to a post that he's the winningest coach in the SEC.

Hell, MJ got cut by his high school team, Coach K was going to get fired before he started winning. Point being we can find something wrong with anything. Just sounded like you are trying to piss on everyone's parade when we have hired the most decorated coach in Tn. Basketball history. It may turn out bad, but a year ago,I would bet that 99+ % would have picked him over Tyndall.

There are plenty others pissing on the parade. I've pretty much been cheerleading for CRB from the get go. I've possibly not been critical about anything about him. Go check the 50 or so posters that voted no about wanting him here in the poll thread if you feel compelled to attack somebody.

And I read that the Jordan getting cut thing is a myth... he had to get cut from the JV team in order to play varsity or something similar. (Here's the story: www.forbes.com/sites/bobcook/2012/01/10/the-reality-behind-the-myth-of-the-coach-who-cut-michael-jordan-in-high-school/ )

Did Paul ask CRB if he was going to wear that Orange jacket against Kentucky and Vandy?

No he did not

Last year the sons of Ray Mears presented CDT his orange jacket and asked him to wear it (during a Big Orange caravan in Johnson City). There may be a similar gesture for Coach Barnes who has great respect for our traditions and history
