Barnes calling out Dalton?

I think what he said is harmless. He also said in that same answer that our guys have to take the open shots they get as well. He’s just trying to point out ways this teams needs to get better to win big in March.

Vescovi needs to shoot a few more mid range jump shots and I thought JJJ had some good looks today.

Our last games before Ky we played and beat Auburn, Bama and SC. I really didn’t think we would win all 4 of our games at the end with the quality of teams we had to play. Kentucky played very well and deserved the win. JJJ hits that 3 at the end and we could have possibly pulled it off. We are still SEC champs!

I feel like your 7 footer has to shoot better than 36% and your 5th yr seniors have to carry their weight. Luckily, Az bailed us out as far as 1seed goes.
They absolutely need to carry their weight. Nobody is asking them to be stars. Just be the same guys yall have been for the past 2 seasons.

I saw a number of times we had the ball down below the basket and kicked it back out instead of trying to score. If they take those shots, it's a good chance of drawing a foul at least in addition to making a basket.

We had guys playing hot potato in the first half with open looks. They'd pass out or drive for worse shots. Santi passed up a 4 foot floater on a break to throw it out to someone 20 feet from the basket at one point.
When Vescovi air balled his fist 3. Seems to lose his confidence. I knew was going to be one of those days. We were 1 of 8 at the time. Slow starts are our albatross.

They weren’t calling fouls much last night and UK was blocking seemingly everything down low, especially early. I understand why we got a little gunshy in the paint. Still need to stay aggressive though.

Some of you folks need to take a look at the box score of the Feb 20th game between Connecticut and Creighton. The clear #1 team in the country got blown out by Creighton.

Creighton shot 14-28 from 3 (UK shoots 15-29 last night)
Connecticut’s starters shot terribly, especially those guys in a supporting role.

It happens. It happens to the best team in college basketball. It’s not unique to Tennessee.

I actually saw more of that the 2nd half maybe they were anticipating a block. Kentucky had their most blocks of the year in this game, probably UKs best D game of the year. The guard Reed Shephard got in the same zone Dillingham got in at UK couldn't miss. I thought as a team we came out a little too emotional on Senior day some teams are like that. I know the SEC wants to schedule where they put teams vs each other that they think will be near the top but would be great if we played a lesser team on Senior day like Homecoming etc...

Vescovi has been jumping forward or jumping to the right when shooting his jump shot Instead of going straight up. That pushes his ball forward or to the right of the rim.

Good players get their own points. Great players get others players points.
DK has to recognize when he's getting doubled, immediately pass into the threat, which gives us an advantage. That's how teams are covering him. He has to get better on that recognition instead of dribbling out which gives the team time to reset.

Awaka and Aidoo would have their man buried -both feet in the paint almost under the cylinder, and kick out. I get the concept but teams have to respect that our Bigs are going to shoot. If not, it's like having SV out there-its wasted minutes and points. SV and Awaka had 1 points combined! That's criminal

Barnes calling out Dalton..."He's gotta get teammates more involved"??????.... Seems odd cause I feel he kept it from being a blowout and others need to step it up.. Unfair to me
Pretty bad for Barnes to be calling out a guy who's giving you all he has by playing with a blown out/torn hammy. Geez what a tyrant.
