Slick Rick makes 5 mill a year to put a good product on the floor. IDGAF if this kid plays or not... if we don't make the tourney with the talent we have now... Barnes will have FAILED monumentally. Getting a good recruiting class every so often ISNT good enough.

You're not paying him a friggin' dime. So stop acting like you've got some sort of entitlement coming to you. If the coach who just had the most successful season in UT history offends you to the point where you have to name call like a grammar schooler, then there are 13 other SEC teams that would welcome an immature fan.

I'm not so sure we have that much talent. Turner is broken. Bowden is much better playing off of other players, players that we dont currently have. Pons is a project. JJJ is good but he's a true freshman still finding his game. And I love Fulky but come on, he is going to get dominated against teams with a legit NBA center.

Are things not better now than they were when he got here? This is the first drop off since he arrived and I’m sorry if you think in a few years he can start recruiting like the blue bloods but it just doesn’t work that way unless you wanna go Memphi$$. Got a heck of a class coming in next year and the pieces we have in place already look good. I’m sorry but your post just makes you look clueless.

Not sure why people believed he would be ready to roll right into the rotation. We need upgrades at just about every position, some of the young guys may develop but right now we just have off the bench role players and they have been forced into starting roles.

Yeah, 3 losing seasons in 33 years. A total of 9 games under .500 in those three years. WTF were we thinking allowing him to take TN to just it's second and longest number one ranking in history?

31 games. Matches the most in school history. The 6th highest winning percentage in 110 seasons. Also a league championship in his 3rd year.

I think Pearl could win with the team we have now. I don't believe we have the personnel to play this slow, plodding Rick Barnes half-court style of basketball. As a result, I don't think this iteration of Vols basketball will be dancing in March. I think we're probably an NIT team.

It disappoints me that Barnes can't or won't adapt his style. We have guys who could probably press and run the court well enough for us to make the tournament: James, Bowden, Ticket, Pons, Fulkerson, etc... That exciting style just isn't in Barnes' DNA. When a coach makes this much money, it just seems like he should be able to adjust his scheme to suit his roster.

Not throwing insults. Said your post makes you “look clueless”. If you’re not clueless then you need to try harder.
Who said we won anything? We had a great team and it showed on the court at 31 wins and a month long stay at #1. Anybody that argues with that is stupid, however no, we didn’t win anything. Matter of fact the tourney was kind of a let down in my opinion, giving up a huge lead to Purdue and falling short of their ceiling. Last years team should’ve been in the final 4 and nobody knows that more than the kids on the court, and they said as much.

Barnes is a future HOF coach. Best we’ve had in a while. I liked Pearl and still do. But Barnes is great too. And more proven honestly.
Lastly, what about this team’s “talent” makes you think they are an automatic tourney quality team? Defense is great but they’re a rag tag bunch of streaky shooters that doesn’t have a true big playing, ever. Seems Turner is still less than 100% and there’s no backup PG and he’s a better 2 than PG anyway. James still learning. Johnson waste of scholly. Bowden has been streaky but he’ll find his stride. Fulky tough kid but seriously he’s a 4 playing 5 and not good at creating so inside presence isn’t there. Couple young guys that’ll be good but they’re basketball babies geez. I do hope they make tourney somehow but it’s not as monumental a letdown as you say based off of the “talent” you’re referring to. This is a 100% different team than last year.

8th highest winning percentage of UT's 22 coaches despite taking over an absolute dumpster fire that was stoked by the coach with the 4th worst record.

Barnes already has a higher winning percentage than Drunkle Jerry and his 4 20s.
