This will be my first fall not spent in Knoxville since 2005. I need some ideas for bars in downtown Nashville, and the greater area, to watch the games.

More specifically, a bar where the Orange and White will meet downtown to watch the NCSU game.

Thanks

Best Nashville Bars for Football:

1a. Melrose Pub on 8th Avenue

1b. Jeds on 28th near Centennial Park

1c. Crowes Nest in Green Hills

Typically plenty of fans at Corner Pub Midtown, Jed'd, and Tavern.
I prefer Corner Pub, fun place to be on game day.

I've gone to Crow's Nest for Sundays in the past when I was in town.

Trying to make sure that I'm surrounded by Orange on the Friday of the NCSU game.

I made the mistake of walking in Cross Corner in Brentwood one weekend. It was packed with Gators...

Melrose has a great vibe, lots of TVs, and an awesome beer selection.

You also don't have to deal with nearly as high of a douche quotient as at Jeds.

Jed's is awesome. Top floor is almost always UT. Nice place with good service.
Bailey's on Broadway is ok too.
Jonathan's has 3 locations in the area that are excellent.

Ha, thats kind of why I said Beyond the Edge (hipsters over obnoxious aholes). I watched the UT-Florida game at Jeds last year and a group of Ole Miss fans were completely smashed trying to start sh*t with everybody.

Pick one, just not one on Jefferson Street (Thats Funny Right There). Try to stay on Broadway or 2nd Avenue.

I spent a season of Sunday afternoons at Beyond the Edge watching NFL, it wasn't bad. I just hate the stale smoke smell. East Nashville can have a weird vibe sometimes too. Try Melrose sometime. You won't be disappointed. I think it's technically called M L Rose now.

It is, they are opening another location and didn't want to be tied down to the Melrose name.

Ha, the Jed's waiter (a vandy fan) tackled one of the ole miss guys in the damn bar. Sh*t was unbelievable. I think Vandy just beat ole miss earlier that day. THe waiter said something like, "your team is the worst team in the sec", as he tackled the ole miss guy to the floor.

They also said there was too much confusion with the Melrose pool hall across the street. Ironically, their new location will also be at the old M L Rose car dealership.

I will always call it Melrose though. I feel like I was in on the ground floor of that place. I live less than 2 miles from there towards Lipscomb.

Yeah, it was pretty interesting place to be for sure.
If I am not actually at the games I will more than likely be at Corner Pub this year.
